Hi,

I'm not sure if this question should go here, but, frankly, I've been asking too many questions on the DBPro forum and wanted to give them a break.

I'm trying to do a TANK shootem game (similar to the ones on the download page) and have gotton to the point where I can traverse the matrix and keep the tank in front of the camera.

I actually have the tank moving up and down according to the matrix height.

Now, here's my question... how do these other TANK games angle the tanks to appear to move up and down a hill?

If the left side of the tank goes over a hill or bump, only the left side of the tank angles up.

All I can seem to do is move the whole tank, by getting the matrix height and re-positioning the entire object by using the POSITION OBJECT command.

Is there a way to split the tank into 4 corners or something and only move according to the matrix height on that corner?

Any help will be appreciated,
thanks,
john...

you have to find how high each corner of the tank is on the matrix and then rotate it to the angle of the ground

I have a website!!!
So go there: http://www.freewebs.com/darkb/index.htm
on second thought you probably shouldn't

I made a function ... I'll try to find it and then I'll update this post

"He will come...the voice from the outer world,
bringing the holy war, the Jihad, which will cleanse the Universe and bring us out of darkness."

I cannot edit and post a code, so I make a new message

look at there functions .. you have to tell the number of your matrix, the coordinates X and Z of your tank, and "fluid" is the smooth
you should set it to 1, and then increase it until it is smooth enough to looks ok..
if you understand well my code, you can even upgrade it to get the perfect angles by giving the coordinates of the corners of your tank

"He will come...the voice from the outer world,
bringing the holy war, the Jihad, which will cleanse the Universe and bring us out of darkness."
