Actually its my first model ever. Yeah, I know its a sword, and everyone does it, but its my first real model and a personal accomplishment to get this far.

I've provided the direct X file for anyone to use in their game. Free. I'd sure like to hear your comments though. =)

It looks pretty good. I'd probably round the handle out though and try and add a little detail to it.

I had an image up, I guess the host deleted it (temp hosting). I'll upload it to my server right now.

Here is my first attempt at low poly character modeling. (It looks smooth cause I applied the smooth filter...duh )

This is so much harder then I thought it would be.

I attached the legs and arms, properly I think. However when I do a render, it shows up all jagged where my connections are. I created poly's first, but thought that was the problem, so I triangulated them and still the same effect. =/

Since I haven't been able to figure out why the character becomes triangled when I connect the ligaments to the body, I've decided to take a break and model something else.

Here is a gun I threw together in Blender. By no means anywhere near done, however, gotta start somewhere. Not bad for no reference images, I think.

It's rendering in Solid mode. Select the object/faces and click "Set Smooth" in the Editing panel set.

you were born to model! you are better than most people (including me) so in a few months you probably be as good as Josh Mooney (http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=151473&b=3&p=4#m1782382)

mike i think that needs to be rephrased... hes better then most people in blender. and hes is progressing very well (although he needs to make the body so that its meant to fit together with the legs and arms(same problem i had at first)

lol granted he can make a gun(when i try i wish the gun was there so i could shoot myself)... any way. the models are very good your keeping them low poly which isn't something most people new to modeling do.

Really? since when i try i wish the gun was there so i could shoot Cash Warren then marry jessica alba. It would be difficult at first you know with the mourning and all that but ill make it work for her ar- i mean her feelings.

Small rant for you being a idiot.

good first try, keep it up,
look around the forum for human modeling tuts and reference pictures thier aboundent to those who use the search button.
