Heh, I was going to post about this today . I found out about it yesterday. I'm not sure if I'm going to enter yet or not... I'm pretty busy with classes and stuff. Plus, it would be sort of a waste of time because I'm not quite there yet with my quality of work. I'd much rather work on my own project, without deadlines, so I can concentrate more. But we'll see

I think you have to join a forum that is involved in the event to play. I belong to Polycount.

Am sort of new to Polycount, I should of signed up last year but i was put off by the wholesale talent that was there lol

So i signed up 2-3 days ago when i heard that it was that time again

So far ive found it pretty intresting, and the talent... is absolutly unbeliveable, just to keep up am goin have to fork £70 for a wacom bamboo tablet and spend a hell of a long time in tutorial sites for zbrush to create a normal maps and just to get better.

Finished my concept sketchs by hand of a elf-clearic, so all i have to do now is to create a digi version of them to model off in max9.

I have started the weapon and so far its looking okay, well sort-of okay lol

So good luck people

I'm currently saving up for a Intuos3 as well. And I'm also currently drooling at the cintiq. But that drooling has been going on for a few years now so don't expect it to stop.

Alchemy , one hell of a program ,and it works realy well with zbrush!

ohh and thxs sid for the zbrush tuts, they will really come in handy,

The only real problem now is that bloody virus that 'decertifies your windows serial number' so i have to take to the shop again to be wiped since they first patch didnt hold...

On the upside my 46ich and 56ich televisons came today so ill hook it up to that when i get it back, imagine that 56 inchs of crysis its goin be fun!

Now to relax for my art As exam, 5 hours of quiteness... you cant talk or listen to music, just relax... ZZzzzz...ZZzzzz...ZZzzzz...

ZZzzzz... cb

You do realise that the best of the best are going to be entering, if indie game artists joined it would be a scratch on their shield. If your just doing it for fun, that's okay then.

We have professional modelers on the forum you know. Jon, Bond, Errant, Oolite and Oleg are some of the best in my opinion.

I'm not entirely and idiot. I don't see eai doing it because hes a weapons artist. I don't think that bond1 would enter since hes got alot of work. Jon does every dom war and Oleg has begun to be good at charater art. I'm just saying, small time artists like you and me woudn't stack up to artists that are spending 60 hours a week crafting their profession.
