TANKFEST MINICONTEST

The Tankfest is a sort of contest in a way (without prizes, sorry) but it's just for fun. One day I saw meteorite's tank and thought it would be cool to see how other people imagine futuristic tanks.

Rules:

-Has to be futuristic
-Must work in an FPSC game (can be static)
-Must have textures!
-Must have at least two screenshots of your tank
-Please post a minimum of 3 tanks to allow others to have a chance of winning (also to make it easier on the judges-haha-we're just kidding)

Please try not to double post because the moderators get stinkin' mad whenever someone does.

Message to moderators: Please do not lock this thread until the contest is over! We want to have a chance to see people's creations!

A few judges will be selected and their will be places like first, second, third, etc.

So far the Judges are:
-PW Productions Manager (me)
-Ozzi mad boy
-(empty)

If you want to judge, please ask (post here).

One more thing:
You can make your tank work in an FPSC game with animations, too. It'd be really cool, like a rotating turret or something, just try to be creative. If your tank works as an AI, then you're bound for first place.

I have an idea for prizes: For first place, maybe a weapon from their choice of almost any model pack (so, pretty much the first place winner is the grand winner) which probably won't be fair or work, so nevermind. Let's just say that I'm unsure for first place. For second place, the prize is the first place winner's tank. For third, the prize is the second place winner's tank. Those were all probably bad ideas, but if anybody has anything else to offer, please do. Thanks, and good luck!

P.S. I'm going to start a futuristic weapon contest soon, too. Probably sometime in the next few weeks or so.

Nothing is too hard as long as you can achieve it (*Note* This does not apply to programmers).

How come none of my messages are showing up? On the message count, it said two (before I posted this). Can anybody else see these messages or at least post? This contest was going to be really cool...

Wait, nevermind, sorry. They popped up. Oops, my bad.

Then I'm afraid this thread must be moved to 3D Chat. If you change this so that the tank must work in FPSC then there's no need to move this thread.

Yeah, just change it that it must be a static FPSC entity.

I may actually enter this for a laugh. If I can summon up the skill to do some texturing.

does the texture map have to have been done in one whole piece? or is it acceptable to have it in 2-3 ?

Oh, I see. it's just that it's been a while since it showed up. Sorry for being impatient. Alright, it does have to work in an FPSC game but can be static. Still, it would be cool if it had animations.

At Shaun Of the Dead,

It's totally up to you, whichever's easiest. So, it doesn't have to be in one whole piece, but still, up to you.

At both the moderators that posted,

Sorry about being impatient. Please don't delete this thread I just changed the rules a bit.

Thanks guys.

OK, 2 new rules (hopefully these will be the last):

-You don't have to texture it if you don't know how, can't, or are just a beginner to making models. At least make it grey (which is the default for most texture makers/editors). At least try, though.

-Post 1 video of your tank in an FPS Creator game and tell if it's dynamic or not. If you know how, you can make your tank an enemy or neutral entity (or ally, you know what I mean, make it an AI if you want).

On a side note...

--Does anyone wnat to help judge? There's still two empty slots for judges. If you're a judge, you can't enter in this contest (kinda obvious).

--I've got an idea for prizes. For first place, I dunno yet. For second, the first place winner's tank. For third, the second place winner's tank. Maybe a weapon would be nice as well for first place or some store points. Anyone got any other ideas? I don't really have anything to offer, to be honest, because...well...I can't model and don't really want to give away store points (mostly because I don't have any at the moment). I just did this contest for fun and to see other people's work.

REMEMBER, THIS CONTEST IS FOR FPSC X10 ONLY!!!!!!!!

Thanks, good luck.

If you need any ideas of a really futuristic tank, type in www.warhammer.com and it'll take you to a site of like strategy game minimodels (anybody heard of Warhammer 40k?). Some of the models are like really futuristic tanks. Or, you could search up "warhammer 40k tanks" and it'll come up with a whole bunch of pictures of futuristic tanks (however, they look like they wouldn't be able to work in real life, but anyways).

Nobody wants to judge? There's still two open slots y'know...

Also, I'm gonna start another minicontest in about a few weeks or so that's about making futuristic guns. Since all the model packs are modern, I thought it would be cool to start a futuristic gun contest.

That's why I left it.

Might be an idea to mention the above in the first post. You have this:

Quote: "-Doesn't have to work in an FPSC game"

and

Quote: "Although I said your tank doesn't have to work in an FPSC game, it still can which makes your chances of winning higher."

It needs to be in FPSC. I'm not knocking the competition it's just that in the FPSC boards, things have to be FPSC. You could have this in 3D Chat and state that the tank could be in FPSC if they want. I'll let you decide.

Hey, ozzi mad boy,

Yeah, I know I like quadruple posted. Sorry. Sure, you can judge to. Here's what you judge them on:

-Creativity
-Animations (if any)
-Originality
-Pure awesomeness
-Texture and realism of texture (how good it looks and if any)
-Graphics and realism of graphics (includes polygon count)

If their tank works in an FPSC game as an AI, then they're bound for first place really quick. Sorry, I'd rather post than e-mail you. Thanks, I was getting worried nobody wanted to judge.

Hey, Shaun Of the Dead and Toasty Fresh, are you guys going to enter? You don't have to texture it you know, although you'll have a better chance of winning.

Hey, ozzi mad boy, you should get FPSC X10. It's awesome and you'll be able to enter a whole bunch of new contests and download cool maps people made. Also, if you don't agree to be judge, then say so, I mean, you haven't posted for awhile, either that or I'm just being impatient. Just let me know.

Sorry about that. Are you going to enter though? I won't quadruple post again, promise.

Edit: Uhhmmm.... Is anyone going to enter? I'd enter a tank I made as an example (no, not the 'really simple tank' crap I made in the forums), but AC3D won't work for some reason.
