is there a function to get the highest id for the amount of objects that have been created??

3ds max objects are called limbs in GDK. If you look it the manual it will tell you how to get the total.

If you have any kind of programming knowledge it should be really really simple to work out the maximum id's.

can some one help me get started on how to work out the highest id for an object? because i am not so good at the logic part of programming

Sorry same avatar thought it was you. Still please keep all the posts into the same one. And all threads about the same subject into one

The following code will return the highest object ID as long as you havent deleted any objects



A better way would be to have a global varible called FreeObjects and increment each time you load or create an object. That way if objects are deleted you still know the correct ammount and its faster
