hey guys,

Well, here's the deal, I went out to the local computer shop, saw this box that said game programming starter kit and figured "SWEET! gotta get this" well anyways, I got it, the big giant book that comes with it is just full of interviews, and the tutorials that are built into the program are a little confusing.. (dont worry, I did them with some bumps and bruises) anyways, I'm having a hard time putting the skills that I learned to good use.. if there is anybody out there that has seen a tutorial, that shows you step by step how to make a 2d game, then that would help me and all the rest of the newbies greatly in how the code is used. I know something like this can be a real major pain, but whats even more frustrating is that this kit came with darkbasic lite, a giant novel of interviews(useless), and too few tutorials..

I really dont care what kind of game this thing could end up being, I'd just pretty much like a step by step tutorial to writing a game so I can see how the code is most commonly used.. Thanx for reading this lengthy message, I hope to hear from ya's soon.

If I'm remembering right, Game Programming Starter Kit is geared to C++.

My advice for someone just starting out: Throw away everything but darkbasic lite, then go through the tutorials here: http://www.darkbasic.com/create/bm_tutorials/
