Hello FPSC Forum. Whenever I reload a gun, if I hold down the 'r' key it keeps repeating the reload animation + sound until i release it. Also, if the gun doesnt need to be reloaded, it will keep clicking while I hold down the reload key. How do I fix this?

Um.....stop holding down 'r'?

Sorry if that sounded harsh, but honestly. It's obvious.

A gun is a gun. It doesn't have a brain, it doesn't shoot people - you do. If you want to keep reloading your gun when it is fully loaded, it's not going to stop you. If you know of a gun that will not let you remove and replace the magazine until it is empty, please let us know about it and perhaps one of our modelers can reproduce it.

Otherwise, Private probably has the right idea.

Best.

I believe you don't usually reload an M1 Garand before it empties - however I know it is possible, as my grandfather told me he did it several times.

Next time you play Call of Duty, tell me if it lets you reload with a full clip and chamber. This may not be a high-end FPS creator, but come on.

I don't understand what you're complaining about here.

Are you saying that holding R will reload the gun continuously, but pressing R when the gun is already reloaded won't reload the gun? If so, then that would be a bug.

As for your question:

The reload animation/sound procedure is hardcoded into the engine, you will need to Mod the sourcecode in order to fix whatever it is you want fixed about it.

The answer is simple! Use any mod with AirMod inside and add the following to gunspec:

nofullreload = 1

nofullreload = X – If set to 1, the player will not be able to reload when the weapon is full.

This doesn't stop you from topping up but it will stop you from being able to hold the reload key.

I'm supprised Airslide or Ply didn't mention this

It's not a bug... It's a feature!

Thank you Errant. That is exactly what I was looking for. It would really help if the people here weren't so sarcastic to new users.
