Well here's a look at the mega pack I'm building for my portfolio.

Edit:Here's the updated list of what's in the pack thus far:

11 different wall picture entities featuring famous ancient woodblock scenes(some in a upright frame and others in a sideways frame.).
2 handrails one a segment and one an entity.
1 Futon.
1 Kimono on a stand.
4 Raised floor 2 entities and 2 segments.
1 Set of original stair segment.
1 Small building.
2 Different Stone lanterns.
4 Decorative shoji screen.
10 Wall segments some with my rafter floor and some without all with multiple textures.
1 Cloth Encampment wall segment.
1 double handrail wood bridge.
4 Roof segments, 1 sloped, 1 ramped, 1 corner, and 1 roof peak.
5 Statues, 1 Large dragon, 1 Horse, 1 Ninja, 1 Small Dragon(entity), and 1 jade dragon statue.
1 Yari(spear) rack.
1 Kunai you can stick in any wall.
6 Massive pillar/colum segments.
2 Fire pits, 1 a segment, and 1 an entity.
2 Floor lanterns, 1 a segment, 1 an entity.
1 Oblisk.
1 Scroll stand.
1 Seppukura(Sacred stone boulder, or sitting stone of the gods.).
2 Support beams.
1 Writing desk.
6 Cloth war banners(2 of them I left blank so you can put your own picture on.).
1 Doll in a case.
1 Japanese Umbrella.
3 Fishing boats(1 on a stand, 1 on ground, and 1 on ground upsidedown.).
7 Different Hanging lanterns(1 for each stock light in FPSC.).
1 Tori gate.

I'm trying my hand at a couple of HUD's I'll include as well.

Now before some decide to jump me about making segments with windows in the geometry instead of using negetive space in the textures, realize I've made some that way and grew tired of not being able to kill my enemy through spaces a bullet or shuriken should be able to travel. Not to add it looks retarded having a bullet hole float in open space killing the illusion and the reality of the gameplay.

FIRST link to the first set of pics.

For those who don't want to go to the post further down for the additional Picture .zips as I add them I'll post there links here every time I add a new set here until I release it.

SECOND: set of pics including roof segments, columns, support beams, an oblisk, and a japanese sitting stone(seppukura).

http://www.mediafire.com/file/inyjmnjej3l/kurocastlecontent2.zip

THIRD: Here's the 3rd set of pics included are a torigate, 6 warbanners(2 I left blank so the purchaser may add their own design to them), a japanese umbrella, 4 different colored hanging lanterns, 2 floor lanterns(1 a segment, and 1 an entity), 3 fishing boats, and a retexture of one of my statues.

I welcome feedback.

And a pic of a kunai segment that's stuck in wall I use for marking secret locations in my game.

I also have a kunai stuck in floor for the same purpose.

I'm going to make a couple pinwheels with the same purpose, also.

Thanks Wolfman, I just finished one of the weapon racks.

Here's a pic.(I've still got to move it away from the wall a bit though.)

I'll put together another .zip of pics as soon as I get a couple more things finished.

I'll give the price when I have it finished, as I want to see how it's recieved, and I keep making more models as they come to me(currently there's 8-10 pages of notes and sketches from brainstorming sessions.).

I will add everything that comes to me as I did today with a couple models that I came up with out of the blue, that aren't even listed above.

I'll make another .zip of pics, when I have enough to show.

Thanks for the feedback guys, and keep it coming(it's really motivating me.).

wow, thats awesome!
Im actually going to Japan in 2 weeks time, so I can relate to it, when I go to Osaka Castle (most famous in Japan)!

Excellent work, well done Kurotatsu-san!

One suggestion - see if you can get the sliding paper doors....they would be a good addition to any japanese castle, especially in sleeping quarters etc.

Really looking great. I love everything and I would be willing to pay for it.

I know that animation is the next biggest step to modeling and I hope you will get there soon -- uh, if you already haven't.

Steve-Paul the person who created the medieval pack created a non-FPSC pack and it is selling very well for $90.00. He sent me a video of a village that was made with "Unity". Absolutely fantastic. Where I'm going with this is that he had a horse in the village that was animated. Not a running or walking horse (although I'm not so sure he didn't have that possibility) but the horse was just standing there like most horses would do while they were standing and waiting. He also had some "horse" sounds. Really sweet.

BTW, your horse for FPSC looks sweet as well.

As luck would have it, I just finished the statue version of the horse.

Just added the 3rd set of pics at the top of the post.

Thanks for those interested in it for your patience.

At last count the content I've made for this model pack is at 80 items!(I'm shooting for 100!).

Thanks for the e-mails of support from all.

Just a little longer and this bad boy will be released.

I've just returned to work so I've been workin on it in my spare time, but it is really important to me to get it finished.

For those who don't want to download the Pic set 3, here's a pic of the torigate.

80? WOAH nice work! I think it's well deserving of a price tag.

Jade, I'm looking into some plantlife(right now I just made the pots for them.).

And I'll see about doing a retexture of my dragon statue for ya and see what ya think.

Thanks for the kind comments, and I'll post again when I have more to show.

Edit: I'll update the list at the top tomorrow with the current contents of the pack.

Here's a pic of the 4 folding shoji screens I just added to the pack today.

They're easy to make so I'll definately add even more of them to the pack as well as a template for purchasers to make their own.

The second one featuring the tree horse is borrowed from my wife who is a talented artist in her own right, so credit to her for lending me the horse to use.(I can't wait to get her texturing some content as well.

Cosmic, I am most honored for that especially coming from you. There is no greater mark of success than the respect of your peers.

Michael X, Thanks for the feedback, not many have mentioned my original HUD. Since you brought it to my attention, I realize I've been focusing mostly on models, and it may be time to make a couple more HUDs.

Here's a couple more pics of shoji screens I put together today. The one on the far right features an ingame screenshot I took that's in one of the pic downloads up top.

And it's hard to miss my tribal logo I did just for fun in the middle one.

I know $30.00 is probably out of reach for a lot of the people here. However, you have to realize that this is only $.30 (30 cents) a model. That's like 30 points in the store. How many individual models are priced at 30 points. I can only think of a couple. These look like very good models and many of them would easily be priced at anywhere from 150 to 350 points individually in the store. So, I guess if you have a small budget but this is a genre you really would like to do as a game, then you might want to start saving now.

Remember there are 100 models here. Some small some large and many are quite ornate.

This is, of course, IMHO.

Thanks Terry,

I've been watching around the forum and reading many posts in regards to contributions many have made, as well as seeing models dwindling in the TGC store. While watching many improve their skills and get little to nothing in return for their efforts.

I've been thinking, and this is just my opinion mind you, but, it may be time to set a new standard concerning the creation and selling of original work(I also mean scripts, mods, and other content, or programs.).

I think a great many have been overly generous almost to a fault. I have come across many forum surfers that beg and plead for content, scripts, and free things from any who will listen(some of said beggers have been with the forum as long as 2 years. And checking the posts they've made read like a laundrylist of wants.).

And all who have worked very hard to gain skills in their chosen path might start considering teaching a man to fish, instead of doing it for him.

Sorry for the massive post, but I think that many would stay around if they had more to gain than just a looks great and thanks.

Now back to Flatlanders inciteful breakdown of my pack.

Please keep in mind that when I conceived this pack I had two things in mind. I looked through the TGC store, and thought about what a publisher would be seeing for a return for their efforts(50/50 split, and subtract paypal fees.) and thought honestly I'd pay more for many of the items created by such a large group of gifted people.

Then I looked at the TGC website, and what the pricing is for TGC sponsored model packs as well as around the net and decided it was time for a change that would be a little more in the interest of the content creators instead of just the website here.

I kept seeing the word Mega Pack all over the place and said to myself 1 wall segment with say 10 texture variations isn't exactly mega. Which is why I settled on 100 items. I averaged it out much like Flatlander did in his post and hit my price $30.

After reading all that I hope some may comment(if they didn't fall asleep.).

nice jade dragon!!! Gosh id love to get this im absolutly obsessed with Asia. But... I dont think i can afford this... However if you broke it down into four seperate parts for like $7.50 per part, or if you sold the modles seperatly i could buy some of the stuff.

Just a nub trying to figure it out ^_^

That's a good suggestion Jade.

There are 2 days for everybody to put in their 2 cents on the price, but If there are those that would like to pick and choose what they want from it I may work deals for them, though I'd rather sell at least small bundles rather than single models.

And just sell it as a whole pack for the $30.00.

I'll give this some serious thought, I like this idea. If anyone else would like to pick out any 25 models from the pack and pay $7.50 please post it in this thread before my deadline of this weekend.

I need to finish a couple subtle details with the pack which will take another couple days to line out.(I have to go through every script and double check they are all pointing to the right folders for meshes and textures as I moved some things around for this sale.)

I apologize for the inconvenience, it's just I want to be as thorough as possible.

I'll post an update monday if not sooner.
