I've just been looking into purchasing a decent lightmapper, and remembered gile[s], so I wondered over to their site and found out that it is now free. Why the hell wasn't I informed about this?

ahh I think soon enough most lightmappers will be useless. It seems most people are shooting for realtime lighting and such anyway

This is true, I'm just trying out Unity and it seems the best way to achieve lighting in that is to use a mixture of both real-time and baked. The real-time lighting affects the lightmaps, so it looks pretty good when done correctly. Leadwerks is still the best for real-time lighting.
