The rules:

-Use your favorite 3D modeling, texturing, animation, and other art packages to create a scene.
-You have 1 hour to complete the geometry, and must then post it in the entry thread.
-You have unlimited time to work on the Uv map, texture, and the render until the duration of the competition ends.
-You may enter as many times as you like.

The prompt:
For this competition, model whatever you can see outside your window. You can elaborate creatively on it, but your scene must reflect what you see outside your window.
(note: You may use your work window, bedroom window, or can just look out your front door, whichever you think best inspires your scene)

Deadlines:
All entries must be posted into the entry thread by April 15,2009.

Enjoy! This is a new format we're going to try out for the competition.

-Mike

So you spent about 7 hours on this scene, according to your post time and start time...? Sorry if I misunderstood your post.

Ah ok, sorry about that, I miss-read the post.

I was thinking of texturing mine, but leave as is and just make a few other objects instead. This is a pretty open competition considering anything can be outside your window.

I have a few questions,
1. What to win?
2. I want to make a few models into 1 scene, does this still have to take 1 hour?
3. May others help me? (since my textures are weird)

Thank u.

My modelling done, took nearly an hour

Ill improve detail in a Normal Map probally, aswell as adding the texture.

Very little deviation from real life.

Pride! As well as a way to keep improving your 3D skills through practice.

Yup, 1 hour total

Nope, it's all you. It'll be good practice though. Geometrically, it's likely in an hour you'll have less complex geometry, so it'll be great practice for your texturing skills.

Am I allowed to make the same whatever multiple times (starting from scratch each time) until I meet the one hour mark?

If at first you dont succeed, LOWER YOUR STANDARDS.

I think I'm done, mostly just because I'm too lazy to do any more to it.

Modeling Time: 9:33 AM - 10:32 AM
Texturing Time: 11:01 AM - 12:15 AM

EDIT:

Are we allowed to do any post-processing (sharpening, bloom, etc.)?

i like orange

As long as you do start from scratch, sure that is fine with me.

I'd enter, but I live in a tiny country town so it'd have to be %100 organic.
