hmm, try moving it over by opening up the gunspec, find the line that says 'align = x' or something like that and changing the value

In gunspec.txt, increase the alignz = x value. It will likely need to be 30 or so. The value is more or less equal to inches away fom the camera.

Hmmm. Default settings of...

Quote: ";HUD muzzleflash position

horiz = -0.5
vert = 0
forward = -4
alignx = 4.5
aligny = -2
alignz = 25"

Worked fine for me.

You may have video card driver issues or need to reinstall FPSC. May sound stupid but sometimes just restarting the PC or copying the weapon's files into a new folder can fix random bugs like that. Make sure you have cleaned BINs and DBOs too, if you are using an official update.

Do you have the same problem with other weapons?

I usually just hit "U" key to slow the game then spam the capture key while shooting.

OK. If it's just that weapon it might be just some odd quirk.

Try this...

In gamecore/guns/ww2 or wherever that gun resides, make a new directory and call it "mp40hands" or something. Then copy the files from a known-working weapon like the tommygun or something and test that everything is working correctly. If yes, replace those files with the mp40_hands ones in a controlled manner. Start with the hud.x then gunspec.txt, etc. Test game after you copy each thing. At first the anims might be messed up because the files don't match but it should iron itself out as you replace the files.

I know it sounds stupid but try it. I've had an assortment of strange bugs from time to time which the above method can fix. Once you have the weapon working in the new directory, delete the old one. Restart your PC then recreate the folder under the original name and copy the filed from your test folder into that one or edit the entity .FPEs to point at your test folder.

edit: don't forget to delete the .dbo and .bin each time you change something if you are using an official update.
