Actually make a scene out of your custom creations. We don't want pics of a wall, we want pics of a scene. That would be a great segment for a burning house!

To be honest, they don't look like much more than some photoshop filters and some random brush strokes. You should think about that your segments are some more and then make them. With all the segments in the tgc store these won't particularly stand out, but if you put some more work into them you should be set.

What?
i put a lot of time into these, and i know they're not the greatest but i dont quite know what your talking about.

{edit} besides, they are not 'random brush strokes'

I think they look like they could be underground caves or tunnels. Would work great for a secret passage.

One thing I don't appreciate about people trying to sell their media is being completely un-modest. These aren't absolutely horrid, but I can certainly say that they aren't top 'quallity' segments by any stretch of imagination. Sorry, but I'm just saying it as it is.

Is there gold in them thar hills? or caves? or mines?

Toasty Fresh, I really don't see him as being completely immodest. He did say, "and i know they're not the greatest." He is being self-confident and that's ok.

They're good enough for whatever possibility one might come up with and actually, I have already been thinking about the possibility of a gold mine.

These are ok i guess i wouldn't buy them as i can make my own segments seeing as i already sell enough in different places.

But i would say that with practise comes perfect ignore any mean or hurtful comments you may get from anyone stick it out and you will go far just keep trying. As for this one dont put it above 40 points no one will buy it honestly, even my really high resolution ones like that i gave the community a few days ago are around 75 - 125 points so dont push it to much with segments.

Good Luck mate keep trying

Put a lot of time into them you say? This took me less than 5 minutes to make with a couple of photoshop filters.

YFY!!! (yeah for you) i dont have either of these programs. Its wonderful that you can do that (you have been doing it for at least a couple of years anyways i'm sure.
If you dont have anything nice to say, then dont comment. If you dont want to buy them, then dont.
My textures take at least 20 minutes a piece cause GIMP doesnt have very good brushes.
Also, the store sells segments mostly for those who need a quick one, or else for they who dont know how to make their own (plenty of those out there)

I have only bought one segment from the store myself, because i can make my own.

Also, its not like i'm pricing them really high,
only 25 cents to a dollar a piece.

Hoped that helped you tear-downers

I would have to agree.Textures aren't great the segments needs some work also flat segments is a big no no.

I hope you see reason and go back to the drawing board and come up with some thing amazing!!

You can download custom brushes for GIMP offline...you can even create your own. It just takes practice.

I think you did a good job--everyone has to start somewhere. They remind me of the kind of textures you would see in a Spiderman game for the PS2.
