I don't know what type of game I am going to create. However I know for certain that I would like to work with Server and Client connection, however it is achieved.

I have only ever created single player games both in C#/VB and C++. I thought it would be interesting to give this application a go and see what I can create.

Would anyone be kinda enough to give me some insight to the mere basics in server/client communication. Possibly a sampler code that would work in Dark GDK.

I have searched this forum and nothing really gets answers fully. Others just keep suggesting using peer to peer though .dll

Anything would be kind that is up to date. everything i read here seems to be from years ago.

thanks!

Try to look here

If you want to do connections THE solution to most of your problems can be found in RakNet.

It is extremely powerful, but also simple. There are samples, tutorials and demos included with the package.
