I've been having peoblems with getting MIDI files to play using the music commands. I don't get an error message, the source file is not corrupt and works find in my media player, but the music just does not play. It just doesn't. Is it DirectX? Have you had problems with this? Any ideas on how?

Yeah, MIDIs are very problematic, and converting them to mp3s is the best way to handle it. You'll have to use a converter, here's one that I use all of the time.
