FPSC Classic Models and Media / True black transparency on muzzle-flash not being recognized by FPSC

I have this muzzle.dds with true black background transparency. However, FPSC simply doesn't recognizes it's transparency. Some help, maybe?

Not really... i just want to know why FPSC is not identifying true black as transparent in the image.

the black only works on bmp and jpg mostly,the best way would be (if you have photoshop) to delete the white with the eraser tool so you have a gray and white cherked background and export as dds with transparency

I created an alpha channel, but the DDS Plugin refuses to save the file, saying that there are too many channels (5).

Yes, DJM's on the right track, but you can get it to work in DDS. Follow the exporting part of my tutorial, but instead of saving as 32 bpp alpha save as 1 bpp. Then the black parts will disappear.

It's sort of a random bug. Just flatten the image before saving and it should work.
