Hey,

Basically, I am trying to create a simple 10x10 image of a black circle with a white center on a white background.
So, I have done this on PSP(PaintShopPro) and it is made up of only two colours black(rgb: 0,0,0) and white(rgb: 255,255,255).
But then, when I save it and load it again with anything, even PSP, the white bits have bits of very light gray(such as rgb: 249,249,249) and the black bits with very dark grays. This sort of messes up my program.

Does anyone know why this is?

thanks,,,

are you saving it in a "lossless" file format? ie 24 bit .png, .bmp (or .psp)? if you're saving in a "lossy" compressed file format like jpg, colors will bleed over from pixel to pixel.

fyi circles work best with odd number size pixel counts.. and I think what you are referring to is anti-aliasing. here are 2 versions of a 11x11 circle. one hard pixel (no AA) and one with AA.

you can see the difference even this small.

Cheers!
