Hello,

Does Dark GDK have a command to play a video? If so, what filetypes are supported? Please let me know.

Thank you

Not sure if there is a built in command or not, but you can always include an external dll and take care of the code yourself as well.

Check the Documentation.

Yes, there are animation/video commands in DarkGDK.
You can use dbLoadAnimation(char* szFilename, int id) to load a MPEG/AVI/Quicktime movie.
Those video commands are missed in the chm. You can type "animation" to search these commands.

Carlos lies

These commands were removed thats why there not in the manual!

Quote: "The DirectShow functions are no longer contained within DirectX. This means we also need the Platform SDK installed to compile the animation library which is not ideal. For now we have dropped the animation functions and will revisit them in the future."

however you can use windows multimedia instead to play the video (you could also write a directShow version if you had the windows SDK)
