Hi, and welcome TGC members. I have started to work on some custom decals! Why? Because I went to go look for some free ones and couldn't find any. Well, barely any. So I am here to do what needs to be done. Make and Give away free decals!

I am working on a bio-scanner model for 2056, and it would be nice to have a decal that simulates one. Perhaps a thin light beam that goes down and back up again? What do you think?

Best.

Sure, im not really sure what a bio-scanner is but I will look it up. Im guessing you mean like a light for a scanner that just goes back and forth..?

Yes, a bio-scanner that you would walk through/step on before entering a clean area. Up/down or side to side is fine.

Best.

Ohh! I thought you meant something totally different. Good thing I read your post before I made it. This one is going to be pretty hard. Do you have a picture or something?

...here's an example of a fingerprint biometric scanner, used to authenticate a user's identity, prior to accessing a pc:

There are also retinal biometric scanners...

Yeah, I have seen fingerprint ones but I think he wants a full body one. If so I almost have it done already...

The bio-scanner will be in two parts (left and right) and will fit within one segment. You will step onto a small platform between them and be scanned, so I'm thinking that a light beam that travels up and then down (or vica versa) will be fine.

I'll also be making a decal for the readout screen that will depict the scanner passing over the body.

Best.

Yeh, I'd love a laser too, like a tripwire....

Also, how about lighting decals, like the one in the Sprite Pack?

Non-moving would probably be best, but that's just my opinion.

I second CoffeeGrunt's notion - some non-animated light decals would be superb.

Thanks for the spark decal man! A great contribution

Quote: "what about a driping blood decal? we could have endless fun with that."

Yeah that would definitely be pretty cool, you could even make a simple color change with it when you're done the actual decal so that we could see many uses. For example, red - obviously blood, but then it could be changed to a sickly green/brown color for setting up to drip off of an old, rusted sewer pipe or something. And having a little pool the same color beneath the drip would be superb!

Just an idea, keep up the great work though man.

Cheers

Robert F: While reading this thread I had an idea. I'd like to see some water decals that could be used for fountains.

You make 'em, I'll buy 'em. Then you can give 'em away. Hope to hear from you. Thanks, bro.

Some lighting decals would be cool. Almost like bloom, but not exactly like Light-FX. Do you get what I'm saying? Like when you stare at a light in real life, you see that "outer rim."

I didn't want to say this, but I don't think I will be able to finish these. I think I might be done with Game Dev.

Can't really tell you why. I woke up one day and thought, wow I dont feel like game dev.

And then I did the same thing the next day... and the next... and the next. You get the point.

I just have a better passion for web designing and developing. I guess really. I will probably not leave forever. I will just be someone to hang around and talk to.

Plus, I have a big Announcement and Im pretty sure I will be out of the community after.

It's very difficult to know a person from how and what they post on a forum. I'm learning that more and more every day, but I always fleshed you out as stand up kind of guy. You've shown respect, a great attitude and willingness to help and guide others. You had my respect and I'm sure that of many, many others.

I'm saddened by your leaving, but more so by your "parting post" concerning another member. In fact I'm embarrassed. It was a small and pitiful thing to do. You really had me fooled.

Whatever you do, I wish you the best.

Brian.
