This is my first real model. It's a staff (duh) but i can't animate it so i'm wondering if FPSC toolbox is worth the price. I use AC3D. Well here's the pic. I'm missing the hand texture but got the staff color. Also i'm asking you what kind of staff do you think that looks like, i like it looks like a maple staff?

It's a nice first model, especially since you decided to model the hand as well, the staff itself I'd say is a bit tick and have too many divisions along the length if you really want it just that shape, as now it's just a simple cylinder, try taking some of those divisions and scaling them a little bit, it'll add a bit of difference in the mode and generally make it look better I think.
The hand looks rather good since you're rather new to this (It seems) although you have a bit of wireframe issues, hands are generally pretty tricky to make but what you want is to make the edges sort of flow around the muscles of the hand, here's a screenshot of an old hand I made quite a while ago, and yes it does seem rather smug to teach with your own work but hey, I know it's not perfect. It's just the only hand shot I've got.
