Looks good for a lowpoly. The texture seems a bit washed out. Might want to up the contrast a bit. Can we see a wire shot?

Edit:
Because of your Egyptian post, I'm a bit skeptical that this is 'your' model.

Yes, a wire shot, perhaps we could make some suggestions to get a few of those poly's less pointy

This model is also one that belongs to Caligari Corp. (now owned by Microsoft); found in TrueSpace 7.6's Library.

I'm also a bit skeptical...
But if it is yours it does look good but I'd suggest doing something with those seams you've got showing and fix the UV Map up a bit since as of right now it seems like you have some squashing/bloating in some places.

In the beginning, the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

Probably (I know I was going to make one to be included in the GameSpace 2 Library...before they canceled it); have to look.

And I imagine 99% of posters don't explicitly state they made what they're showcasing due to it being implied by them posting it, especially when he writes: "heres a Rhino ive been working on!". Why do people showcase other people's media as their own? I can't see any possible reason for it; he's not even trying to sell it or otherwise make money or anything, maybe he just wants to see what it might be like to have made work people appreciate?

"heres a Rhino ive been working on!".

It is possible to work on what is essentially a free to use model
as long as no one attempts to sell it.

Most new people want to impress, anyway he might learn a thing or two by tweaking the model.

Ah! I was'nt aware of the Egyptian post at the time of posting.

It would have been "impressive" if he had given due credit to the original creators and provided a comparison image of the original for critique. This is outright copyright infringement, and Anomalous has been banned.

Hi all,

Sorry to see that someone has been claiming they made these. Indeed an Egyptian figure, a rhino, and a laser rifle are all free objects that come along with trueSpace7.6.

If you wanted to place those objects in your game, modified or unmodified, then we would be fine with that so long as proper credit is given. Claiming you made them, though, is quite another thing.

Also, reselling them just as models would not be acceptable, since we give them away for free. We don't want people taking those models, wrapping them up and selling them for their own profit, as they'd be exploiting people who could have got them for free, as is our intention!

Mostly the models are included for inspiration, or so you can have a look at how they were made, or to demonstrate a feature (the ones listed here are intended to demo the use of normal maps inside the trueSpace real-time engine, for instance).

So, while we would need proper credit and not want you claiming them as your own, if you did include them in a game of yours then that would be ok (as then you would be promoting / selling your game, not our content). One thing though, your game would be a bit generic if you just lifted these models (or any other free ones) and dropped them in, so we would suggest that you'd be doing yourself proper credit if you create your own By all means use the free ones as a starting point or a guideline, but certainly make it unique.

We hope people like the free software and the small collection of models that comes with it, and hope they get some benefit from them - but don't post them and claim you made them, that is an infringement of copyright.

If you want these models for yourself, just go grab a copy of trueSpace (and get a fully featured free modeling application thrown in to boot!)

http://cart1.caligari.com/web/Truespacemainreg.aspx

Sorry to see this cropped up. We'd also like to say thanks to the great community here for taking care of the situation, and drawing our attention to it.

I can be reached by email at [email protected] if anyone has any questions on the fair use of these models etc. Now - everyone back to making games

Thanks!
Tom
