Hi, I am using an invisible segment wall barrier and I need to set it so bullet holes don't appear on it and when the bullet strikes the wall, dust doesn't come out.

How do you do either of those? I searched and couldn't figure it out.

Thankyou

This method is simple and effective.

Step 1
Navigate to the following directory: C:\Program Files\The Game Creators\FPS Creator\Files\gamecore\bulletholes\.

Step 2
Rename all the files from:
bulletholes.dds ---> bulletholes.dds_OLD
bulletholes.tga ---> bulletholes.tga_OLD
prebulletholes.dds ---> prebulletholes.dds_OLD

Thats all!

Just re-read the post.

Sorry, don't do what I said. You'll have to turn collission off for the invisble walls, whcih I'm afraid might be difficult. I can only think of one method, and it isn't easy and has restrictions.

Isn't there an option in the walls .fpe? In Signs IV you are allowed to choose the bullet hole so it would make sense that it is in the .fpe

The bullethole type is determined by the wall's material. If its metal it uses the metal bullethole, wood uses the wood bullethole, etc.

I do think, though, that if you give it a material that it doesn't recognize, it'll still use a default bullethole (the little black circle)

I found a way to remove the bullet-hole at one point. A certain material index doesn't have it I believe...I want to say it was 0 but maybe not, I think that makes a small black dot. That may be the best you can get without a mod.

I actually am having that problem with a custom room segment. The bullet holes look normal when you shoot the floor but when you shoot the wall or cealing they are so small you can't see them unless your kissing the wall. I'd like to figure out how to fix that.
