Welllll... final project for one of my classes is due tomorrow. Being me, I've left it to the last minute like I always do. The project was essentially to use architectural theory, design, and perspective in combination with abstract art in a final composition. Basically, make something cool looking.

My concept is to model my entire house (or as much as I can) and have it unfold, allowing you to see every aspect of the building in one shot. To do this, I need to model the house first.

Here's the current progress after just under 2 hours of work...

I wont be posting new shots non-stop all night, but If I end up finishing Ill post the final comp. Its going to be an all nighter... but I think I can do it. We'll see.

... Its already 10:00 PM.

- RUC'

<Update>

Hour and a half later... making progress.

11:32 PM.

Im going to do an ambient occlusion render and a hidden-line render, throw them into photoshop, and do a sort of abstract water-colour painting underneath just to give an idea of the textures and materials / colours on everything. So no Im not UV Mapping everything and texturing them. These models have rediculous mesh layouts . Itd take me forever.

Just finishing the bathroom up:

12:30... Im starting to slow down gotta get some coffee brewing.

im very jealous of how well all that is (im afraid to post my night crawler attempt(s)...its my first actual attempt at UV mapping.. which i must say no one could possibly ever edit this mesh if they wanted to)

...granted iv only been modeling for about 8 months... (i started out having trouble making a hammer...)

Thanks for the encouragement.

Here's where its at so far... now roughly 2:00 AM.

The puzzle piece was a last minute idea that I think seems to be working alright. Just going to touch up some geometry and add in some advanced lighting effects, then Im going to (really quickly) throw in some figures utilizing the spaces, and do the final render in max... Should have that up in about an hour... hopefully.

Probably THE best piece of art I have seen on this board ever! You definitely nailed abstract, and your modeling skills back it up wonderfully. Cheers!

Ah, I love this style your building your house in. I think adding some characters to some of the rooms would really add life to this.

Great job.

Final colour layout:

When I get to school I need to add in some more labelling and scan in the rough concept work, but other than that this is pretty much the finished product.

Yeah im pretty wrecked... Ive got to write an essay right after I hand this in and then rush home to design a t-shirt logo and finish off a self portrait of myself with an underlying skeleton... two hour train ride there and back... . College isn't hard at all... lol.

Thanks for all the comments, it helped me work through the night (and through all of my coffee). Hopefully it was worth it.

Ruccus you sure haven't been slacking, this is absolutely superb. Great job modeling that through the night, procrastination can be quite the bugger at times.

Ruccus this is some fine work, I like the style, very imaginative. Kind of reminds me of an Escher style picture.

Incredibly Impressive RUCCUS! Good Job!

Could do with a tad more variety in Colour, but for the pressed time schedule you've done amazingly well.

Hope it gets a decent mark!

Wow, amazing. When I saw the first semi-finished one I thought to myself "Wow, I hope he takes off that black stroke" and thankfully you did, because it looks superb. I'm so jealous of your skills.
