This pack is based around modern day warehouse/factory items; there are 38 models in total consisting of transport, electrical, storage containers, signs and more.

The power electrical boxes were built separately to give the game designer the ability to make any combination they desire so every scene is different.

Nice textures and all, but I personally wouldn't want to pay $10 for something close I can get for free. Maybe some characters and animated entities? Just suggestions for the future. If you disagree, please don't insult me, I'll just cut myself

This pack is bad, I just sent this email to TGC:

Quote: "Hello,
I'm very disappointed with the Model Pack 24. I was planning on using it for my game written in DarkGDK.

There have been a number of annoyances with it. Firstly all the models are put in the same folder, I find this very irritating. As a professional model pack you would at least expect each model have a separate folder. Also a number of models have completely random texture names such as for the barrier-rail.x its texture is called m1.dds

Also for a large number of the .x models there textures are not applied to the model. I made a list shown below:

brick.x
BTable.x
BoxWire1.x
BoxWire2.x
BoxWire3.x
Exit.x
Pipe.x
tankgen.x
S_O_Locker.x
Manual_forklift.x
factory pipe.x
power_box1.x
power_box2.x
power_box3.x
power_box4.x
power_box5.x
power_line.x
power_lineC.x
Rubble.x
saftey_strip.x
single_locker.x
slip_sign.x
Trolley1.x
Tyre.X
Crate2.X

The following models don't even show anything:

Pylon.X
PylonBK.x

As you can see the list is massive, I am extremely disappointed with this pack.

Alex"

That's because they were designed for FPSC. You have to manually apply the textures, as FPSC does using the "textured" field in the FPE.

And why put them all in separate folders? That would mean that you'd have to navigate into all kinds of sub-categories in FPSC which I find quite annoying.

If you need the texture names, consult the FPE files. Don't complain about something designed for FPSC when you use it in DarkGDK.

Kind of like buying the wrong parts for your car, only to find out they don't fit. I think with a little work you will be able to use them in your project. They are very good models.

If you have any questions about what files make up each model, look in the models .fpe file and you will quickly figure it out. Otherwise, I'm sure X Games would be glad to help you.

Best.

I know this would be a pain but could you send them to me as 3ds files? I can't edit the .x files?

If not would you be able to send me the .X files with there textures on. Like alarm.x when you open it up it already has its texture applied. The list below shows which ones haven't got the textures applied:

brick.x
BTable.x
BoxWire1.x
BoxWire2.x
BoxWire3.x
Exit.x
Pipe.x
tankgen.x
S_O_Locker.x
Manual_forklift.x
factory pipe.x
power_box1.x
power_box2.x
power_box3.x
power_box4.x
power_box5.x
power_line.x
power_lineC.x
Rubble.x
saftey_strip.x
single_locker.x
slip_sign.x
Trolley1.x
Tyre.X
Crate2.X

On one of the model pack pages it says:

Quote: "Once purchased the media has been packaged in such a way to enable you to enjoy the content immediately within FPS Creator. This pack can also be used with other applications such as DarkBASIC Professional"

I was assuming this applied to all models pack. DBPro is very similar to DarkGDK.

I also bought model pack 2 and have the same problem which says it works with DBPro on that page.

Dude, honestly. Why the HELL would you buy a model pack when developing for DarkGDK when it says in big bright letters 'FPS CREATOR MODEL PACK 24'?

It does work you just have to set it up in your own way to get it to work. It's designed for FPSC but can be used for DBPro and DGDK.

Open the .X file in LithUnwrap and save as .3Ds

They're FPSC models AlexI. Most FPSC are as low-poly as they get.

No once converted they come out even lower. I have opened up both and compared.

Anyway I think I have sorted this problem now. I wrote a program that goes through each model and re-textures it and then saves it.

Bonus (that is if the models look the same)

Appricate your patience and hope you put the models to good use!

Most likely this is from smoothing groups being messed up, try welding verts in lithunwrap if you can.
