Hey guys. I'm a bit of a noob at this and was looking at some of the different map creation software and was wondering if you could give me a few suggestiosn and your opijnion on them.

At first I looked at 3D World Studio and thought it was ok but then I realized that there wasn't a nice easy way to import obj files which is what I use sometimes.

I then took a look at FPS creator which was pretty cool but I don't know if I'd be able to import custom objects with shaders and things into the maps there either since I only have the free version.

I was thinking of trying Deled but am not sure.

What I really want is something that I can easily place objects and build levels with. (Maybe something that comes with a bunch of premade models for me to build with) I know some of the software such as 3D World Studio have it. But It'd also be good if the software MAYBE have a shader editor in it.

I also have a question. Do the map formats such as dbo store shader and texture data along with the map or no? I'm trying to figure out what I'd do for an object that had multiple shaders on it.

Thanks for your time.

BUMP

After looking around I've decided to rephrase my question a bit as well as add some othe ones.

What would you guys suggest for making levels and models and things that can export to files that the GDK or XNA can use?

Another quetion is would it be a good idea to export terrain and buildings and stuff like that as a .x file as well since it can hold the basic textures and then I can just add in the shaders?

I'm thinking of trying Deled.

Does that have a pretty easy learning curve or does it take a bit to get use to?

Thanks.
