When i try to run a model created in truespace 7.6 (saved as x.file) either darkshader kind of crashing (run very slow) or either the model is black (normaly the mesh model use to be grey/white) and i cant apply the texture to the model, atleast i cant see the texture on the model. why is this happening?
Are you suppose to change some modelsetting while saveing the model in truespace?

Upload the model here so we can take a look at it. Then we can determine if its a problem with your Dark Shader or truespace.

it may be that your normals are causing it to be black so make sure they are in order..

also check the size of your model it may be very big in darkspace....

This can be caused from a couple different things.

Are you saving your directX file as a compressed file or text?
it has to be set to text and NOT compressed.

Are you applying any Materials to your objects before you export?
Darkbasic only supports standard textures and does not support the materials.

Are you applying the normal mapping feature using truespace? although truespace can created normal maps, they simply cannot be used with DBPro and even trying to extract the normal map is useless as it, well lmao you'd just have to try it and look at the results for yourself to understand why they don't work.

I have no problems bringing models into darkshader myself from workspace, but if you still encounter more problems, then perhaps you could try the exporter on the model/legacy side.
