Dark GDK / Is it possible to play a movie using removed dbAnimation commands?

I just know that the animation commands are removed from DarkGDK due to removal of DirectShow from DX SDK.
But I see that there is still an animation lib in DarkGDK. But I can't use it to play animation and it doesn't show any error messages/warnings when using these commands.

My question is what should be done to make the animation commands work? Is this possible?

Thanks.

PS: I have Windows SDK installed and it is in the include path of VS 2008

I have read this thread before.
I know we can use DirectShow to play a movie.
But I wonder if the default animation commands are available for DarkGDK. I think the default commands are better and it is more convenient to use.
