Hi. I just got 3DS MAX sent to me in the mail today, so now I have a valid excuse for modeling guns with no textures; practice!

Seriously, I love this program. It renders about ten times faster than Blender, everything is conveniently placed and the UV mapper is much simpler.

Here's some pics.

Criticize as you see fit.

I'm pretty sure it's about roughly $3500 USD.

Well a screen shot from the editor isn't too hard is it?

No, I don't mean that, I meant like how people render things with the wireframe as well as being shaded. But anyway...

Sorry for the double post, but I've started texturing.

How do you get rid of the white lines around the texture?

Are you sure they are not on the texture? or on the UVW modifier panel under display: do you have Show pelt seam or show map seam ticked?

That picture was rendered. The lines only appear when it is.

Is the background of your texture white, if so change the colour to red, if the lines appear red on your render your UV co-ords are slightly out. you can change the resolution that appears in the UV mapping window to the same size as your texture map, this allow for a much more accurate placement.

In the UV window Options>Preferences
and change the dimensions of the render preferences to the same size as you texture map.

If that's the case then how come the lines don't show in the editor?

you have your editor settings wrong.

Customize> Preference settings>Configure driver

Under Appearence Preferences click on match bitmap as closely as possible on both background and download texture size.

Okay then, thanks for all your help. Sent.

On topic again, here's a small update, a bit more done on the texture.

Can you believe it? I'm actually working on a texture! That's amazing!

Ive not recieved your email mate. When you send it through can you send it as a 3DS as you are likely using a newer version of Max than me. Also going to need the texrure obviously.

Okay, Frap's helped me with the lines, so now I've done a bit more texturing and am almost finished.

It looked like your UV Map was on the top layer of your texturing program.

That's gotta be the biggest pointless bump I've ever seen, and it is finished already.
