I suck at character modelling. I can UV map and make static stuff no problem, but I've never really knuckled down and learned character modelling. So this is my first attempt at making a character that doesn't have separate meshes for arms ,legs etc.

I'm pretty pleased with it so far, but would appreciate some comments and crit. included a wireframe!

Looks very good, you dont want to see my characters,im only good for freakish mutations beacause a normal attempt at a character results in a big mess.

My only crit would be to add one more loop round the thighs and scale it

Could you post a larger shot with the wires and such? It's hard to see.

DJ master / Arron,

That was the case with me, which is why I started making this! So

Concerningly, I wasn't aware I had ever left! But thanks! I'm aware that there are probably a few more subdivisions required to get the animation smoother.

Oh There was a time when I first joined when you were always around, then I started to see less and less of you.

This is the only model thread I have ever seen belonging to you, except that doughnut character

Hm, the main issue I can see with the character is that he is rather flat, I'm guessing you box modeled him? The flatness can easily be solved by making the model slightly more cylindrical with the edge loops, rotating and shaping them to follow along the curve of the body. Because as of now I the edge loops you have are basically completely flat and as of such aren't very organic so to say. Just rotating them would make quite a difference and shaping them a bit as well would just add to that.
Here's an example I made or whatever, not the best thing in the world but hey, I'm busy hah.

Notice how the edge loops bend and shape around the contours of the body and such. (Obviously I probably went a little overkill with the detail on this one but I can't be bothered to think right now, it's sort of late hehe)
About the texture, I do like it quite a bit, it has a very nice tone to it, but did you use photographs for the texture? It generally seems to enhance the flatness of a model and just looks strange seeing as all the different parts usually have different light sources. But you've got something rather nice going on.
I do really like the character, definitely work more on this guy, he's cool.

Very nice Butters!

I would have to agree with Demon Air 3D, the thighs could do with a couple extra divisions.

Other than that, looks great!

Hope to see more from you in the future.

The samurai is a nice model, but has a bland sword. Give it a texture or some color to liven him up. I'm no porfessional, but I think it would be interesting for you to experiment with his head gear texture and maybe try and make separate feather type objects come off his head.

Cheers,
