I know the title makes it sound like a team request, but I am more of a programmer than a 3D modeler.

I need a 3D model of this:

for a project I am working on.

I know it is not according to forum rules to make a team request, but I hope this one can slide.

You see, I am more of a programmer than a modeler. I can attempt to animate it, but before I can do that, I need the model. I already made an attempt at it (click my sig, my .x provided on my last post.), but that hands are way to over poly for the detail, and it looks like *Bad word* in general.

I want to get back to programming as soon as I can, but I cannot do that until I get this done, I want to animate him and put him in soon so I can implement a sword to his hand to fight, but I am not a skilled modeler, and the model I made, cannot be animated easily..

If anyone would like to contribute to this open-source project, then I would appreciate it. If not, I will try again (for a fourth time) to model the hand, and maybe the rest. I apologize if this is just taking up space, but I could really use the help...

I'd jump on board as good will gesture, but i currently see no progress in this game. There are things you can do without the model, pretty much most of the game actually.
This will most likely be locked anyway.

I'll finish them whenever i can be bothered.

This tutorial has helped very many people I know get the gist of modeling. I recommend that you check out: http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/joanofarc/joanmenu.asp

I know i'm not encouraging anything by doing this, But I've decided to do up a quick model for you. This took me less than a half hour to do so. In the future try and spend a little time to learn these programs and you should be able to do the same within no time if you follow the right tutorials.

I saved it in 4 different formats, It is not textured but the appropriate colours have been applied.

Thank you for this. I will edit the model a little to make it a little bit more of a personal fit for the game, and I will texture it. (Not the 5 minute texture fix I put on the other model. =P)

Lol. Demon, you can as well. Have a little army of creepy smiley face dudes! I could implement a feature at the beginning of the game where the player chooses who they want to start as.

If you want to, go for it, I would appreciate it. Actually, that just gave me an idea....

RANDOM IDEA BURST.

I will get 2 or more models with different fighting styles. One will wield an axe, one a sword, and more if needed. Hey, thanks for the idea! =D

Lol, I had already made one but hadn't posted it. Here is a pic of it in DBPro.

If you want the download I can upload it.

DBPro, limited by the programmer.

@Sid Sinister
Sorry for not replying.
Thanks for the post, I will check it out later.

@DB PROgrammer
Lol, nice. If you could provide a download, that would be nice. If anything, I might combine them all two one optimized model, but I would prefer to use them all and make some customizable options for the player.

@tatts
I began decreasing the poly count on it, and so far I got the eyes from 480 to 160 tris. I will work on UV mapping it soon.

Sorry, I guess i could have made those a bit less in poly. As I said I pretty much just threw it together.

Lol, I am not complaining, better than I did. I honestly work better off of a model than a picture. Oh, and I got the eyes to 196 added together, 98 each.

Also, I am not the best artist. I am more of a person that looks at numbers and tries to figure out what is wrong. That does not mix well with making something pleasing to the eye. =P

Attached is the edited model (mesh only, no texture.)

2516 tris => 1656

I realize the hand is a little flat on the front, that is because most of the time it will not be seen, there will be a weapon in the way, or on the other side of the model from the camera.

Even though this thread was something that is usually taboo, I'm proud of you guys for handling it so well and actually making the model for him.

I believe it may have something to do with not wanting anything to terribly complex, having a project ready to implement it in, and me actually giving an attempt before hand. Most people just ask before they start doing anything. With those, they will most likely not do anything with it. Also I had a concept drawn, not asking anythig "That looks like this."

I was playing with this model this morning, just trying something different, again sorry only colours are applied. I also did'nt add smoothing to it, and left it so you can further edit it to how ever you want it. If you decide to use it that is

Well done guys!

I decided to let this "Team Request" slide and I'm glad I did!

On another note, Sorry for my recent absence on the forums, there was "Trouble at mill" as they say.

Cheers,

Thanks for that. I was hoping you would, I was fearing a lock.

@tatts
I am not implementing the models now, I am going to mess with them a little first before I do, and attempt to animate them. After I do that, I will then decide how I will put them in. Once I do that, I will program them in, and they will be in there. I will add you to the credits when the time comes.

@DB PROgrammer
If you provide me a download to that model, I will find something to do with him. (I am thinking of making him talk to the main character...) If you do provide the download, I will place you within the credits as well, taking no part of claiming it as mine and what not.

Hm.. Once I get the main menu, save/load added, options menu (Dunno yet), I will get to work on these models. I am hoping to get my artist friend into animating before then to get her to animate. =D After all, that is what she is mainly about to go to college for.
