Hey all. I took a few months of time out for myself to catch up on some goals I set ahead of time, and procrastinated about, and got fairly far into my goals.

Anyway.

I will be around the community lately, and I just wanted to know what has been going on.

I figure instead of spending loads of time searching, I will just ask here.

So...

Has the migration been released or even started yet?

Has EFX Mod made a comeback yet? (I see the petition has grown to over 200 signatures: http://www.petitiononline.com/efxmod/petition.html)

Has the random crash bugs been fixed in FPSC by now?

That's pretty much it.

1) Not really started... Kind of.
2) Not that I know of. Well, for the English community, no. German, yes.
3) Probably not.

Recently:
v1.15 source released
A couple new model packs released

I can't think of any other groundbreaking events aside from Project Blue, which is a conglomerate of several mods.

Migration=Started, not done.

EFX= I think they released a new one...

Random crash? Idk. version 1.15 is the newest, and source for it is released.

Well, I looked up EFX (as I've been highly anticipating the release), and cannot find it. Probably some idiot made it go away again.

Glad to here the source has been released. Does it still require Dark Basic Pro to compile? Chances are it probably does.

I think I remember you. I'm sorry to tell you that the gaming community disbanded years ago and this place was turned into a dating service for senior citizens.

So.... what are you wearing right now?

Ooops! Wrong forum. Never mind.

Found the download, unfortunately it's not supported for the English community, but either way I can speak German, so no harm no foul (unless said otherwise).

I was the one who stuck up for you when people were getting all over you about never completing a game, AI (Private).

Either way.

Yeah. A lot of people got pissed at Helix for having bad customer support (I don't blame them) and then Helix chucked a hissy fit and we'll likely never see it again. Unless you're a german.

[shameless advertising]Don't forget AirMod Special Edition! Even though I haven't actually posted anything official on it [/shameless advertising]

There's also Ply's Mod which has had some insane new feature additions lately.

I'm looking for something that has more of a visual effect.

I tried the EFX mod posted on their site, all it does is say my JIT debugger (for Visual Studio 2008) found a Win32 Invalid Exception, meaning someone messed up coding it and it is continuously trying to send something trough a loop. So now I'm really out of luck.

Shame that I don't use Vista for X10.

Mainly I just want bloom, as I like the look of it.

Wizzmod only features motion blur. Not what I'm looking for in particular, I want bloom.

RAGDOLL?! Unbelievable. I will have to really check this out. If I could substitute ragdoll for bloom, I would any day of the week. If you could just substitute the ragdoll for the Euphoria engine, you guys would be gods!

Well, I am done shamefully advertising. Anyway, there is no need for bloom nor ragdoll. They just slow the game down.

Check out project blue mod.

It is down the thread. very cool mod.

Clearly. Heh.

Also, to your previous comment saying it slows the game down, if every game was basic and bland nobody would play it. Sometimes you have to add a little bit more.

Well, I guess so, but Fpsc is too "small" to handle that kind of thing...yet.

Indeed. I can't seem to find this mysterious "Blue Mod" you're talking about, I did a search and no results...at all.

Hm, thanks. Will check out tomorrow. Also, has anyone even considered a site for half of these mods ever published? Seems like most are just forum based.

I believe they all have their respective sites. It's just that people check here more often than going to the site, so posting here with mod updates and things of that sort is far more efficient.

As for your "I want bloom/ragdoll" motive, have you tried to make them yourself? Many people are starting to get into Modding and attempting to do the things that they've always wanted to do.

Bloom, in and of itself, is not difficult to implement. It's just that with it come along many things that can go wrong. One of these things would be support on a wide range of GPUs. The other would be optimization. Let's face it, if you have a half-decent bloom in your game but it's performance doesn't match up to that of Crysis, no one's going to care.

The one and only,

If you want bloom, I can help, just search 'bloom' in product chat. There'll be something like 'Omega Bloom Mod' which is a DLL mod that includes bloom, limited AO and DoF and also motion blur. I love it.
