Im working on finishing up a garbage bin model for the store. The bin has two large metal doors on it. I want to allow the user to open and close these doors as they see fit. Initially I was going to package several versions of the garbage bin with the doors open at different angles, but I realized I could give the user much more freedom if the doors were seperate entities on their own, allowing the user to rotate each door to any angle or exclude the doors altogether.

The issue is, I dont know of any way to group entities in FPSC so that you can move and rotate multiple entities at once. It doesnt really affect me, but I think the user would have a hard time lining the doors up properly with oddly rotate bins, and if they could group the bin with the doors together inside of FPSC and rotate the entire unit as a whole, it'd be a lot easier.

Is it possible to group entities? Ive done some searching but haven't been able to find anything.

I'm pretty sure that that is impossible with FPSC.

Anyway, most people only rotate entitys with the R key, rather than shift+R, so I don't think so have anything to worry about.

Thanks. One other question. Is it possible to flip objects with a key inside FPSC? I dont mean rotating them 180 degrees on an axis, but actually mirroring the geometry so it gets flipped? As right now Im including two versions of the doors, one for the left and one for the right, and then I've got 4 different colour variations on the bin, giving me 8 different door models / textures. If the user is able to flip geometry inside FPSC, then I could just provide one door and they could flip it themselves.

I dont use FPSC to make games, just to test my models, but if I was one of the programmers working on the level editor, these two options would have been one of the first things I'd of introduced .

Yeah, but now you know just how limited FPSC is. Trust me, I know what you mean.

You cant group. But you can flip. Milshape, 3dsmax, blebder and so on.
(although you can select multyple entitys)
@toasty: i think the most people have to use shiftr to allign that piece just there where they want to.
And FPSC isnt limited if you are talking about creativity. And not everything is about graphics. You can get rthe realisme out of fpsc x9, if you want to.

Dont get discouradge, there is alot to discover wiith FPSC.

obviously you can import objects into a modeller and flip them manually. But I dont want to make anyone considering buying my model have to open the model up and modify it. It should be ready to go. So if there isn't a flip feature in FPSC (which there definitely should be), Ill just include a left and a right version of the door. It's a little more work but It'll be easier for the user in the end.
