Dark GDK / Why Is My Terrain See Through

I think you can guess from my title but, why does this happen? I've even shrunk the tarrain down to 50% of what I scaled it to!

This aint good what causes this to happen

No thats ok. So I take it its not advisable then. This time I put it back how it was and now its only in the distance its happening with. Better but still dont look nice lol

There are basically 3 things that can make the terrain transparent in areas.

1) your camera position is actually under the terrain surface and so any terrain polygons that have their back surfaces facing the camera will be viewed as transparent.

2) The setup of the camera has its close distance parameter set too far away and it stops rendering the closer parts of the terrain, therefore giving a similar effect to point 1.

3)the ratio of the Far to the Near parameter in the camera setup is much larger than 5,000:1 and you are suffering Z fighting of distant polygons.

Without actually seeing a screen capture or looking at your code, it is very hard to say.
