My friend and I just got pretty into D&D(Dungeons and Dragons) and started to play, and I love it. We live pretty far apart, so we can't play often, so I thought maybe I could find some people on here to play with. If you're interested, send me an email and I can get you everything you'll need. I'm willing to be the DM if nobody else wants to.

We're going to have to pay over MSN or something where we can chat in a group, since we all obviously don't live in the same area.

Anbody can join; you don't have to be a seasoned veteran. Noobs are welcome! I should hope so, I am one!

Thanks,
Crusader2

I tried to start something like this several years ago. I built an RP specific chat with color coded messages, pre-made dialogue, built in d6-d100 die, and pull up character sheets and a map for the DM to manipulate in real time...it never took off

Though I'd give it a whirl, if you don't mind a drunken illusionists. Though the last rules I know are version 3.0. I heard the new rule set is not as good and was made 'easier' to use in the hopes of getting more people to play.

@ Dragon Knight My friend and I actually got inspired to play by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKZm013QBeU

@ Josh Mooney DOn't worry about the rules; flip me an email and I'll explain. The DM can handle all dice rolls (honor bound ), etc.

Sorry about the massive bump, but I found a program to make this actually possible. Josh, if you are reading this, I'll send you an email in a few minutes.

It's called OpenRPG, but you're gonna have a hard time finding a download link. I'll provide one for anybody who needs it (will also be added to the first post).

I'd use the first download; it worked for me. I know it says Traipse, but it's OpenRPG. We'll have to use a universal chat program as well I think.

Neat. You mean something like Pidgin?

If you're talking about the chat program, I was thinking about using Skype (if it has support for an entire chat room) or Teamspeak. If not everyone has a mic, then we can use some other chat program.

If you mean OpenRPG, then it's basically a program that simulates a desktop for the players to roll dice on, etc. I'm not sure if it has Character Sheets you can enter data into, but we'll see.
