Ok... I am no different than most of the people here.
I start projects and never finish them.
Meaning that my 'Night Fall' game has been put away.
It just got to the point where it wasn't fun any more.
I need instant gratification, so I started something that will not take me forever.

Now then...
Probably my favorite game, of anything made in DB, was Mr. Putts Mini Golf.
This is the type of game that I like.
I played that more than anything.
But just like anything that you did not create, you can find something you didn't like about it.
One thing I didn't like was the "cartoon ness" of it.
It was OK, but could do without that.
I also didn't like that you couldn't whack the ball really hard.
There are some holes that you could make a hole in one on, if you could just hit it harder.
The other thing is that I played it so much; I wanted to have different courses.

So I have started to create my own.

Things that it has...
...ability to get a good hit on the ball.
...more realism.
...ability to add on more courses.

Things that it doesn't have, but may be added in on later versions...
...it doesn't have any water traps.
...it doesn't have any hills.

These things are not important to me right now.

How the game stands right now...
There is only one course made at this time and it has 9 holes.
This course will have 18 in the end and I will make more of them; which can be added in very easily.
There are no instructions on how to play.
The game also needs to be finalized too.
Some small things are missing from it.

Lucky Putt

No keyboard use at all.
Everything is done with the mouse.
Move the mouse left and right to move the arrow in the direction you want to hit the ball.
The right mouse button toggles between the camera following the arrow or pointing towards the hole.
'Pointing towards the hole' is default at the beginning of every putt.
Once pointed, the left mouse button will start the strength meter.
When it gets to what you want, click the left mouse button again.

Hehe, why don't you combine this with whatever you've done of Night Fall so you have the extra handicap of making your shots before the slow moving zombies catch up to you.

Possible Features:

Blame the Zombies for your bad shots

Celebrity Zombies

Smack the zombies with your clubs to allay your frustration etc.

Just a thought, but it might work better with full course golf where you aren't restricted to a small playing area.

ZX Spectrum 48k Issue 3, Radio shack Tape drive, Rank arena 12" T.V. set.

UMMM... I think I will stick with the way I have it now.

@ sMs
Ok... you first.

@ hexgear
No... no more Night Fall. At least right now.
I got to the part about adding the zombies and it just got to be too much modeling. I can't deal with that.
I asked others to help, but no one did.

looks good randi, Before I started properly on DT I had to make a fast action shooter as a test to get all the collison down fast.
It was a easy to progress into an rpg from that source work.

what does the game head up display look like down the bottom so the atmosphere isnt broken up?

Stick with it and the world is your oyster! btw nice fricken treezzzz!

"what does the game head up display look like down the bottom so the atmosphere isnt broken up?"

I don't understand the question.
It could just be me, my brain is not functioning properly.
And with your quote...
"Stick with it and the world is your oyster!"
...Brings me to the reason.

I have been very upset in the last week.
I lost a dear dear friend of over 10 years.
What makes it even worse is that it looks like he was murdered.

The world was his oyster and the world can be anyone elses oyster too.
And always let the people you love know it.
You never know what the world holds for you.
My friend John David White ("JD") wasn't much on programming but was a great artist and could model very well.
He always enjoyed me making my little games.

"btw nice fricken treezzzz!"
I made those in Bryce, which is real good for doing the out-doors.

Ok... I get it.
You're asking what if the displays were at the bottom.

HMMM... Don't know.

Maybe I will try and see.

I think it would improve the horizon and sky view which is a killer for a golf game.

The problem that I see is that it some times obscures the putting field, which is what the game is.
I think the green is more important than the sky.

Yes... That's what I like about games like this too.
Plus, I will be able to make more courses and you just add them into the 'courses' folder.

Looking cool Randi, crazy golf rocks! - you gotta promise to get back with the zombies at some point though, that was too cool to remain unfinished.
