I haven't done any modeling for a long time but I've been itching to do some texturing(spelling?) for some reason. So here's a nice simple guitar amplifier I've been working on.

This is the "Mint condition" texture, meaning I haven't messed it up yet. I just wanted to get some crit's at this stage.

Looks good but it seems to have that "photo slap-on" look to it; which in my eyes isn't the most charming thing.

Lol, I didn't use any photos. It was all made in Gimp from scratch. I guess I should be happy though if it looks photo-realistic.

Oh I thought that, just sort of damage it up a bit. Add scratches and a bit dust maybe. Although very slight I think it looks quite good.

Ok, I see. If you look in the first post I mentioned that this is the "Mint" condition texture meaning I haven't added dirt, scratchs, rips, ect. I'm going to try and do that today or tomorrow.

Oh sorry, never head "mint" too many times so I have a rather limited knowledge base about it.

A little update, still haven't messed with any of the metal or plastic yet.

There is more wear around the edges that isn't visible in this picture.

Looks good, maybe some of the metal colour coming away at the edges?

No problem, it's not really used by people much anyway. I'm sure you looked it up be in case you didn't it means an object(usually something old) that is in new condition. It's also a type of candy but that's not really relevant.

Thanks, I'm not really sure exactly what you mean but I'm not done yet so I'm probably already planing to do it.

Thanks for the advice. Although, if you looked at the top post this is an old amp. This is a copy of the one I have sitting right in front of me in my room so it is correct. To turn it off you just turn the volume all the way down which shuts off the power.

Edit:

After I'm done with this I might also do a normal amp(which I also have in my room) that one should have some of those effect knobs your talking about and an off switch.
