Well I've been learning how to texture, model and animate since...well yesterday I've finally finished my first model and its a fully textured/animated ump. I thought i would share it with the community here as gift as well as for others to enjoy it. BTW I know the clip wobbles around wierdly at times, but when i first animated this i made a mistake that was too late too fix. Well enjoy and lemme know what you think. I may begin to make more and who knows mabye ill ask errant if i can rig in hands and release a free weapon pack. (free since there most likely not good enough for you to pay for )

He's refering to the fact that you posted a BMP. Post JPGs please, so we don't have to download them to view them

The model looks good, especially the texture (though a little over-scratched IMO), there are only two problems with it I can see:

- It's a "cardboard cut-out", it has no depth. Narrow down the handle a bit, and especially the trigger guard.
- The texture is stretched along the back of the handle and the top, which unfortunately are two of the most visible spots the the player. You should UV map it so you can put an actual detailed texture on those places.

Thanks for the contribution!

PS - What programs did you use?

Ohh my mistake i thought i posted the JPG one i had. Thx my first time making a model and texture so i think i did well

I used milkshape,uvmapper classic and paint.net.

BTW its a cardboard cutout since i didnt make faces inbetween the two sides instead i simply made a side and extruded it or something to create depth. After that i had no idea how to fix the width of the handle and such without messing up the connection it had.

Lol thx and good luck to you and your pistol. Btw i used milkshape, since thats what i built the gun in. I animated it using keyframes and the guide in the docs folder in fpsc.

@ Cyclone you should have a mod lock this thread, so people will post to your other thread, just a thought.

i put the texture in the gamecore guns user folder and called it gun_D2. and i put that in the script. i made the model in wings 3d then i put it into milkshape 3d. i don't know if that would make a difference.

Dont rename the texture, just put it into the folder, then open the gunspec.txt and modify the textured line so it looks like "textured =" and thats it.But if you didnt make a material in Milkshape and applied it to the model then thats your problem.

I figured it out! The problem was that it wasn't positioned properly.
