Looks good, but they're missing the third joint of the fingers.

Hands are a real f****r to get right and if you look at a lot of cartoons and some commercial games they dont always get them right so credit for atleast trying.

My opinion is that the tops of the fingers do not show where the joints are, there should be some folds of skin and there should be some knuckles which look like they are not present on your model.

keep trying mate, your doing well and are being really brave at atempting this.

I give ip with thos baner fing as it never seems to work for me. I woll now stop wasting mu time.

Better than I can do.
My only problem is that the thumb in the second image looks downright painful. It might just be the camera... Or it might not be, either way, you should get it looked at by a doctor.

oh sometimes truespace really annoys me, I saved my project, and something went wrong while adding bones so i tried to reload, only my project is empty for some reason, and somebody over on the caligari forums mentioned that you needed to select your objects before saving, well guess i will have to start over again...

You ask for critique yet you post screenshots that makes it close to impossible to actually spot any errors. Could you include a palm picture which shows well; the palm of the hand and such? Would make it a lot easier to see.

ok. something i would suggest when modeling a hand you have to get the creases in (at least when practicing most of the time you can just texture it in) bu when practicing especially for your first time i suggest using a reference image and adding the creases. (I'll upload an image shortly showing better what i mean... and also a better explanation)

ok now then. what i mean is on the palm side you forgot the curves(lines) my picture shows what i mean the red lines on the palm. you also didn't shape the hand the way it would be shaped.largely around the thumb and were the thumb goes to the hand (on the wrist side) also on the palm is curves inward not much but its there.(this should also be visible on your own hand) it curves were the crease would be. which is a large part of why they are so important because they tie in a lot of features to that hand that are there. your knuckles are ok. at least for the hand being flat. but the fingers are wrong (you need to add about 2-3 loops around were the joints would be so that you show them bulging (slightly) out(that's more for the second of the three. the third would only need one.

that's about it.

ok, I will be working on the texture, but the palm of the hand isn't really visible if one is holding a weapon is it?

The palm certainly could be visible, during reload animations especially.

"Weapon" doesn't necessarily mean gun.

You need to change your palm a lot, as it'll just hinder proper animation if you don't do so, here's a tutorial for modeling hands that I and I'm sure many other people have found useful on proper hand-modeling. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1mExXURsWk&feature=channel_page

thhanks, and yes I meant holding a gun, and yes i now see that when reloading wou would see the palm of the hand
@Alucard thanks for the tut.
@ClBembry you're right, if I'd like to use them for something different later I would need to change a lot of things, better do it right than do it over again.
