Hey, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to create a working menu in DB classic, one with buttons and everything, and one that preferably works.

Also, I was wondering what requirements you needed to create a multiplayer database thing that records passwords and keeps track of a world + the models inside it.

ROFL! Essentially you would need a server (or two). The only reason I would say two is so that on one you would have the game constantly running, and on the other, you would have your website and passwords and junk. Since you seem to be new to programming DO NOT ATTEMPT TO MAKE A MMORPG!!! YOU WILL NOT SUCCEED (no one does) AND YOU WILL GET REALLY BUMMED OUT AND FRUSTRATED AT PROGRAMMING!!! That being said, I would suggest something simpler, like pong for your first game.

And a complete menu and windowing system for DarkBASIC:

Magic Windows

For Magic Windows, because it was written for an older version of DBC, if you are using DBC 1.20 (it reads 1.14 in the editor) using a text editor (DarkEDIT ,Word, even notepad will do) search throught the main functions of Magic Windows and add a ,1 after each set text font "font name" command

Ex. Search through the file MW_FunctionsDBv1.dba
line 1108 reads: Set text font _font$
change it to: Set text font _font$,1

Main Page

And a GUI in development:

Windowing System

Enjoy your day.

Hey thnks for that reference i've never gotten referenced in the forums, but by the way, look at the pic near the bottom(it's just a link cuz tgc didn't exept my photobucket picture) the pics at the top are the old stuff.

and once you get a handle on the basics, a good idea is making small programs that partain to the overall goll you wish to achieve(like your mmorpg) then once you get that down GREAT(i stress great because you need to have it DOWN) make just a plain RPG that way when you create your final product, all you have to do is take the knoledge you already have and learn how to implement the internet part.

New Site! Check it out \/
