Hehee. I have now made a "good" model with sketchup, for FPSC needs.
Well, it's a bunker wall. It's in .X format. It doesn't have a texture yet. The model is attached, and here's a screen of it.

I still need to do lots of stuff before it's FPSC ready, like, the texture, uv map (which I have no idea about how to do), get a program to make it a segment (maybe), and lots of other stuff which seems impossible...

C&C?

My blood pack will have 500 blood overlays some day! I hope...

texturing (UV map) is going to be the hard bit, I have yet to find a simple way for x files.

Nothing to see here, move along please.

if you want an easy way to UV map it i would suggest wings 3D (there's a couple UV mapping tutorials that surfaced recently)

paint shop pro is a good free program for texture(i would guess you already knew that if you didn't well you learned something new i guess)

Darn, Josh got here before me!

Well in any case if anything in his tutorial doesn't make sense maybe mine can clear it up .

well, I don't have 3DS Max or anything.... I have sketchup, Quake 2 Modeller and Blender.

Wings3d is free, and has 'the' easiest unwrapper out there. I'd suggest downloading it and fiddling around. Read up on the tutorial I posted as well. It's really simple.

As for the comment about Photoshop being better.. I can argue that, but I won't...hehe.

yes if you have photoshop stick to it. also wings 3D is a free one (that's very simple to use) the only thing is you have to stick to it and dedicate some time to figuring out how exactly to use it.

Hmm, I now have Wings3D, but... it can't open .skp or .x files... Which are what I use. And Sketchup can't export any of the formats Wings3D supports...

even 3ds? I thought that was the universal 3d format...I could be wrong...

Look up and see if there is a 3rd party exporter you can use with sketchup.

sekoidiootti, try make the faces into triangles. If they are not, they dont appear properly in FPSC or the collision wont work right.

good luck!

thanks

I don't know how to do that.
I should probably do stuff with Quake 2 Modeler...

Just draw a line down the square so it becomes 2 tris. Make sure it is like this on all faces or the collision wont work properly when its re-imported into FPSC.

thanks

Yeah, well, like I said, I continue working with Quake 2 Modeller. Because that makes automatically triangles, and I know how to use it.

a basic way to uv map it would be to use blender. just select all the faces, hit U then select unwrap. click the little grid icon and from the menu select uv/image editor, export the uv map after moving some of it and then start work on the texture.

It isn't really that easy - if you want good results, you have to mark the seams first, which can take a while and can be very challenging to do efficiently. Plus, it's difficult to get anything to import into Blender.

but with such a low poly model it would be easy, and importing isn't that hard. file -> import -> .x then select the model.

Sorry to say, people, and sorry that I haven't been here for a long time, but my computer crashed, and I lost ALL stuff that had anything to do with FPS Creator... So... That's why I also left these forums, but I just decided to pop up and say that's the reason.
So now I don't have FPS Creator, any model packs, anything I made for FPS Creator, any textures that I had made, NOTHING!!!
But well. So I'll never be able to use FPS Creator again, I'm afraid... I mean, I also had so many stuff from these forums! I mean, almost all the free stuff (yeah, really)... And of course I lost all the games I had been making...
So... Well.

EDIT: Oh and sorry I post this here, lol. I just didn't want to do new thread.

OH WAIT!!!
Sorry I do double post...
But I was thinking, because I still have the serial number thing, would it work if I downloaded the free version and put that there?
But that wouldn't make the model packs come back, though... Or any of the stuff I downloaded from the forums...
