Hi, I'm looking for BETA testers to try out my new program, Backup FPSC X9. The program allows you to backup all media in selected FPSC media folders to a single file. I've tried my best to make the UI as simple as possible, through the use of sound FX and images, and as open as possible.

- Some sound effects jumpy on some computers.
- BETA Updater faulty. Indicates updates when really non.

System Requirements
- FPS Creator Direct X9
- Microsoft Windows XP/Windows Vista
- Microsoft .Net Framework (V3.0 or later required)

Source Code
At the moment the project is not open source, but at the request of the community I may release it to help future developments.

Not at the moment, but thats a great idea Maybe once the programs completely finished I'll add in compression, just for a little extra. But seriously, a really good idea.

Very nice mate I can definatly use this. Will make it much easier to transfer media from one pc to another. Along with the ability to well just backup everything you have ben working on.

Thanks, I'll get to fixing this. Whats happenned is that there isn't actually an update avaialble, and that I've made a mistake on the update server. Aswell as that, the program has tried to download a non-existent updated version of itself from the internet, and tried to replace itself by creating a new process to download and replace the files so that the program can be overwritten. However, various things such as a program starting processes, ending and starting unexpectedly and downloading exectuables from the internet are identifiably virus activity, and my own anti-virus software is warning me . Anyway, the update button should now be disabled, keeping any future errors of this kind at bay.

Noticed a major glitch. When restoring/decompiling the backups, the program encounters an error and crashes. This is an even bigger issue because I haven't a clue where the glitch is being caused, nor how to fix this. I've been trying for about a month to resolve this now. Still no luck.

Perseverance is the key

I dont know exactly what language your using to make it or what the code is even like but one thing that helps me eliminate bugs a lot is add markers in your code such as messageboxes after each few lines, whenever the error appears, note the last messagebox to appear and you know that the error is occurring between that mesagebox and the next. Dont know if that will help but it might

Its written in VB Express 2008. I have already added message boxes every few lines, and these have left me with the problem I now have. Hence I have to choices;
1) Recode this section of the code again.
2) use a diferrent compilation method and recode the compiler aswell (maybe .rar or.zip?)

Never really used VB much, im more into java so i cant really give any advice

Ok, its been a while, but I'm still working at it.

I've recoded the compiler so that it uses a different method. I have also had a look into compression and have coded this into the compiler as well. There will probably be an update available soon.
