Hello

Here's an Camaro 2009 I've been working on a while, just thought that I could post a couple of screenshots before I start working on the textures for it.

Please feel free to comment.

btw what do you think would be a good color for this car?
I was thinking of orange with black stripes

If anyone wants the car it can be downloaded in one of my post further down.

Very nice! In terms of colour, considering the new Transformers is out soon, how about:

Very nice mesh, clean lines. Good job. There are a few odd faces, but who cares. There not really an issue anymore considering most all 3d modelers automatically triangulate their models.

Do you plan on making an interior? Would make it stand out more. How about some normals? A good parallax shader would do this wonders.

As for colors, a nice green/blue cameleon paint job would look nice. With a carbon hood and black(white outlined) decal on the sides..

Here's an small update.
I tried making a texture for the tires from some pictures I found.

I don't think I will be making an interior, maybe later
I've never made anything with a normal map so maybe it's time to try it out, anyone got any good tutorials on that?

I've been experimenting with some specular maps and here's the result.

I also attached the car if someone want it.

i needs a bit of reflection. (that's what i meant by glossy) glossy paint has reflection. but even with out it this is impressive.

hmm how do I get reflections using a texture or is it shaders that I have to use to get that effect?

I'm pretty sure you apply a real-time, fake hdri cubemap. Or the alternative, using the materials and shaders.

Here's a tutorial I've found, covers car paint quite nicely. It uses mental ray, mental ray is free with any 3ds max.

HDR rendering would indeed make that car shine.

Would HDR work ingame?

Here are some screenshots of how it looks right now.

what im saying is you added the light reflection without the image reflection which it does look cool it just makes it seem unrealistic.
