never mind. Just found a post saying that using Gmax for this stuff is illegal. So, changing the subject, any free modeling programs i can use for dbpro or other software related to game creators and stuff?

Hey, i just asked a simple question. I just found the post now, i looked and didn't notice it, 1 i don't need to see rude and snive comments like that when im only asking something simple 2 there are a number of 3d modelers out there and there are so many to chose from, but i was wondering what is the most used not "The best 3d modeler" 3 i just read that there are a lot of posts like this, but im not asking nor begging for help begging would be flooding the damn post with more then one "Help me, help me, help me, im so noob, help me" you know, people need to be a little more tolerant of new comers who are JUST LEARNING WHAT TO USE.

It's just there are so many of these threads, and people get irritated because theres a sticky "Great 3D Resource" that would answer this problem without you having to wait for responses. You should always search around and Google things before you ask it. Because most of the time the answer is sitting right there in front of you and there is no need to ask it.

Don't take offence Skynet its just people get a little bit pissy as we get same post more than once a day.

I would get blender or truespace as they are both free but truespace will be going soon. Try them out see what feels best to you after all they cost nothing. Then get gimp for textures.

I would start off with these then move in to more expensive ware when ready. Nothing worst than spending £3000 for 3d max and then deciding its not for you.

I'll add something later on.

yea, but now i see a whole ass load of 3D builders and animators, now im confused as to what would be the ideal 3d modeler, im not saying what would be "The best" but what would be the most preferred to some one whos just branching out from working with wings3D

I downloaded the Silo trial today, and I have to say I'm in love with it. You should download it and give it a try, you get 30 days and the whole program is included with no limits (at least none that I know of). If you feel that you like it, it only costs 80$, so very cheap.

Ok, looking at truespace. I see on a difficulty level, it is a medium base difficulty. I know how to use wings 3D, that is what i started on. This has more stuff to work with but not as much as Gmax or 3ds max, i can learn this and make some models with this program and go over the tutorial on how to make some mechs, infantry, weapons, armor, and so forth. I plan on using dbpro to develop a low scale mech game, it is possible right? anyway. Seeing this isnt that hard of a program and i have the tutorials i need, ill check back with some models from time to time.

DBP is probably the easiest versatile powerful program you will find.(with an active community) using a code language developed back when computers where made.(its gotten a lot more advanced since then)

lol granted that's assuming its the same BASIC language from back then.

Azunaki - there is no reason to take that sort of approach. Yes, this question has probably been asked a thousand times, but simply saying "Google It" and insinuating people are stupid isn't helping anyone.

hey i did answer his question. weather i was a jerk about it or not oh well. and if some doesn't know what google is. (and are using the internet) is a very plausible statement to make. and actually its more allowing the possibility that the person is stupid then directly calling them stupid. because its dependent and for it to actually be an insult and not a possibility they would have to not know what google is.

"Oh well"? Maybe the next time you need help with something or critique, I will respond with sarcasm and poor grammar skills and see how you like it? It was a perfectly valid question from someone obviously less familiar with this field than you or I, and you could have handled it more maturely.

If you have answered his question, then there is no need to say what you said.

Yes I don't mind people saying "In future, it might be worth searching on google first" (Or something in that manner), but calling people stupid is a bit off.

It doesn't set a good impression on people who might be new here.
