I'm going to be looking for a programmer to take up my project '3D Movie Maker 2' or '3D Anime Maker':

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me82JOg2oD8

The basic idea of the program is to create either animations or even full movies (eventually) inside of the program using Stop-Motion Animation rather than Path Animation or Key-Frame Animation.

If no one takes up the project I'm going to be creating a website that explains the code in detail and make it open source so other DBPers can take up the project and make it better. (I'm kind of an amateur at this programming thing anyway)

You can try out the v0.01 demo here (the current version is v0.02):

The features that need to be implemented into it for it to actually be a pretty decent program:

Save/Load
Undo/Redo System
Group Rotation (ouch)
Character Importer

hmm...i recently started a Cutscene maker program project that basically worked off the same stop=motion animation idea. I'd be very intrested in the code you've got so far but i have one question, If i took up development of this project would i have to keep the same name? or would i be able to merge it with my current project (giving you complete credit for the animation system of course)?
Thanks, Rhys.

Well, the project in and of itself is basically a complete remake of the former program "Microsoft 3D Movie Maker".

There are certain aspects I am in support of that would be looked at as backwards from the perspective of someone who would be trying to create a very professional looking animation/movie: The main one probably being that I am in support of a lower frame rate to make it more possible, like in the original 3D Movie Maker, for one person to create an entire movie with ease (of course you could just make a config file and have the number changeable, but by default I would want a low frame-rate, as an example of 'backward ideas').

If it's non-profit, I was thinking that the name should stay at 3D Movie Maker 2. If we make money off of the program, it will have to be changed (as the name is copyright Microsoft).

right, ok. I understand that you want to keep this project running as a single project instead of merging it with my cutscene creation tool. I still like the idea of this project though.
How would you feel about me continuing development of this program, keeping the name and feel(easy to use and based more on it being simple to create an entire movie) of this program then later, after development on this has finished, using the animation system from it in a program that's more orientated towards real-time game cutscenes than movies?
