Sorry to post 2 Questions in one night, just call my "curious George"
I know of Toady's RAR plug-in and RGT-Zip which are both really cool, but I would kinda like some more features, so I guess I'm asking are any of these possible?
Loading from any kind of decent compressed file (zip,RAR,whatever) any type of file, EG Bitmaps, jpg etc for images, without having to use files created as memblocks first?
EG take a genuine bitmap, zip it in a large archive, then use a command similar to
"Load compressed image (archive$, image$, image number, 1)"
Also, even nicer would be any way of actually being able to compress files from withing dbpro, rather than being limited to uncompressing. I appreciate that ZIP compression has liscencing restrictions but I'm sure there are free source compression methods out there?
EG "Make archive (name$, password$)"
and "Add file to archive (archive$, file$)"
or something to that effect
Hands down guys, if anyone can do this, I'll be impressed, grateful, and might even pay them the price I am otherwise gonna have to pay to liscence an invisible command line method as a little reward
