Great job Jon! I am a great fan of your work
The problem is that I have no plans for making a fantasy game
Maybe I'll buy them just for their coolness

Finally the Fantasy theme gets some love!

Good news:

The bow and crossbow look way better than bond1's because the new weapons look like there is real tension in pulling the string - and the textures look a lot more "serious"

Sling and Flail are terrific additions (if proper animated the flail would make for a completely new kind of playing experience )

Bad news:
The melee weapons look very brutal/orkish - and the dagger says "Klingon" so loud that they can hear it over in the Beta Quadrant. Nothing a thief or elven hero would wield.

There is no single-handed sword which is a must!

Sidenotes:
- The price is fair enough compared to what single weapons cost in the shop - as long as there are ammo entities for the ranged weapons. different hand textures (at least a female/elf variation) would be a nice addition though, since the "gun" weapon packs all offer them (ok, some where added afterwards).
- If the arrows/bolts/slingstones are actually (ballisticly) flying like rockets I'm all in for that pack.
- I still miss a torch/lantern with light script for fantasy games (I know I can attach ErrantAIs pocket light script to any *gun* but its not the same)

In case you find my grammar and spelling weird ---> native German speaker ^^

Got this pack, and it works great. My first impression was that we had a cross-bow and the bow already. The advantage with these weapons however,is that they re-fire quickly. I found that the previous weapons were too slow to re-fire. So while you were taking your time to re-load your arrow, you had to take a good clobbering.

The throwing stones and sling-shot work very well also. I highly recommend this pack, if you really want to make a playable fantasy game with lots of variety concerning weapons, which can be used effectively.

They can also be used in modern day setting when you need to be very quiet in taking out the enemy.

Good work Jon.

hmm

My laptop cant record sound, but i use this for FPSC and create the .exe on it, so basically i just needed to send it to one of my other computers.

but heres the punchline, all other computers in the house have Vista on it and it crashes trying to run.

i can upload a video without sound if that's sufficient?

Sure dude.
Then whatever you show I will emulate and get one with sound.
That way it will show what you want (you direct), but also include the sounds.

Edit
Okay man, here are some videos I shot of the pack, but they don't do it justice.

NOTE: Fraps caused a little lag.

I did not run around much, so it doesn't show the walk and run good, but it has some sounds.

This first one shows the Throwing Stones, The Sword, and the Halbred...

Here is another showing the Flail and the Daggar.

NOTE: No shaders were used and the file sizes are large because I did HD 720.

Here is the last one showing the Slingshot and the Hatchet...

9.32 mb

NOTE: Don't base your decision to buy on my crappy videos, because they don't do the pack justice.
This pack is great and I am sure you will be pleased with the weapons if you are planning a fantasy based game.
BUY IT!

No problem.
I was afraid you wouldn't like them and get mad at me.

I think between mine and yours, they can get the picture.

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but I have a crosshair problem.

It seems the stock crosshairs are overriding all others.
I think it's on my end, but now I have to figure that out.
So, I'm glad I tried to help or I may have not noticed that later.

Edit
I checked my gamecore/guns/FantasyPack/CROSSBOW folder (and the others too) and sure enough I have a crosshair, and not the circle shown in TGC screenshot or your video.

Is this on my end, or is the pack set up like that accidentally?

No biggie, because I will probably omit the crosshairs (use a blank) for those weapons anyway.
I was just wondering if the pack is like that or if I have something strange happening here.
I have a crosshair for the Flail! ?
Will someone (anyone) else who bought this pack tell me if your crosshairs are correct, so I will know if its only my end?
