FPSC Classic Product Chat / update problem with shadows

When i update to any version except 1.04 shadows dissapear....i updated to 1.07 and had shadows but the were to weak not strong and dark att all and barrely seen...how can i solve this??should i stay with 1.04?

well ambience makes no difference here the before with use of 1.04 and here is the after with all the updates use ...and when i change the quallity on the setup.ini it doesnt do anytthing...

Look under 'Files > Preferences' you may need to re switch stuff on like dynamic lighting etc...

It would help if you pasted your setup.ini as Red Eye mentioned. Maybe we can find something that you're overlooking.

yes i did all this staff that you showed me but still no change...and my computer is good 2 gb ram nvidia6400 gt 1gb...could vista be the problem?and my problem is that 1.04 is bugy and i tried all the upgrades....and all seem to have the same problem...1.14 and 1.15 just dont work at all cause everything is black and white without textures and i cant test my game or build and the original 1 version is too old and bad with everything....i am in serious trouble

Dynamic shadows have nothing to do with static shadows.


Make sure your lightmapping=1, and lightmapold=0. Change those settings, save, and restart your computer.

Exit FPSC, open the setup.ini, and change the "lightmapquality=10" to something like 50 or above. Then save, and restart FPSC.

For some reason, each time Lee updates FPSC, he changes the lightmapquality to something less. It gives the impression loading times have been reduced, but the shadows look rubbish.

wow got fixed after a restart...hmmmmm i should restart after editing the setup ini...yeah i have shadows...can anyone tell me what about the 1.15 updae broblem?

that isnt quite true

For example. you have a light source and then your shadowsquality on highest settings. but you ambience is also on high (this would make a sun that lights up everything. So it also will light up your shadows. Then you got no shadows. Hope you understand me.

I just did what you said and that does work. The shadows are really good
