Hi,

TGC continue their iPhone game developments with the release of "iDork"

Lost in a world of school paperwork is 'iDork' your doodled stick man who needs help to escape the reams of homework sheets that are his prison.

iDork is very sensitive and has to avoid many dangers across 25 levels of play.

You draw lines for him to walk and jump across so he can reach the rip in the paper where he can make good his escape.

If iDork touches any objects like pencils, protractors, staple removers and pencil sharpener blades then he'll die and be reset to the start of the level.

Other dangers include doodles that have come alive, such as a sketched gun that shoots bullets and UFOs that fly around.

Game levels are mixed between single screen and scrolling and the difficulty slowly builds as you play through. Your progress is remembered between game sessions.

iDork is unique because it utilises the touch facility of the iPhone & iPod Touch devices to give you new and exciting game play mechanics.

Amazing, The Game Creators have finally made a game!(unless you consider blowing bubbles to be a game)

No other game for the iPod & iTouch uses the touch facility? Anyway it looks cool but I don't have an iPhone so I guess I can't try it.

Wow, million and a half, congratulations

And this stick guy looks nice too, good luck with it

Oh well, I guess they now where the fast money is right now. I hope these mobile games increase TGC resources as much as possible, but I rather have them improving the current development tools
Someone already mentioned DGDK 7.4, not in a rush anyway...

Again, looking good!

It should perhaps be noted that dork is vulgar slang for a penis, particularly in the USA

Irrespective of that though, I would drop the whole 'i' prefix thing - millions upon millions of apps do it, and it gets somewhat repetitive. Stand out a bit, and give it a proper name, rather than clinging to 'i' whatever

What? I've NEVER heard dork used that way, I've lived my whole 33 years in the US...

Never heard of that either. Prick and Dick are. Dork? Nah. Dork is like a geek.

Well Dave and I came up with the name and it was the Dorky geek meaning we were shooting for. I guess it will still get noticed by those who know the Penis version.

The game is climbing the charts already. At the start of the day it showed up at #90 in the UK Games/Adventure category. Now it's reached number 46! It's also started to chart in the USA charts.

We're hoping it'll got top 10 within a week!

Ditto, I have never heard that used as anything except a nerd or a geek.

Interesting game

Here we are discussing different ways to say the same thing. Dick, dork, prick, its all the same.

But I've never heard of "dork", perhaps a google search would help.

As for the game, congrats! Do you make a lot of money from these iPhone games?

The fact that Apple (in the US) approved the title just goes to show how little it's used to mean dick or anything else offensive. Good luck on charting the game, it looks fun for sure.

Although I agree in principle, Apple's approval is somewhat... crummy. I mean, they also approved that child abuse game initially

I don't think it means anything on Urban Dictionary.

Urban Dictionary isn't about factuality and well known words as much as it is being funny or rude.

No, I'm pretty sure it's factually sound.

But I must say, iDork is probably one of the most fun looking games I've seen on the iphone!

This game looks fun!
To be honest it's the first TGC game that appeals to me, too bad I'm a backward 12-century monk who doesn't own one of these fancy phones. I agree with the "i" sentiment; it's really corny, kind of like Will Wright's obsessive "sim" prefix... ugh. What does the "i" stand for anyway, it's always puzzled me.

Quote: "It should perhaps be noted that dork is vulgar slang for a penis, particularly in the USA "

Every word is vulgar slang for a penis, particularly in the USA.

You could make a game called iPhone, where you control a character who owns an iPhone; you can download apps for them etc haha, like that The Onion sketch of World of World of Warcraft hahaha.
or iRich: Where you play as Rick who fires apps from a TGC gun into the apps store and watch the money roll in!

iPhone, where you have to outsmug other phone users, and in which you must solve riddles and complete puzzles to find the holy iPhone 3.0 OS and gain the elusive ability that is copy/paste.

You'll need a Mac to use their dev kit.
