Hey i was just hoping you guys could help me find good refrence images.
I hope to create a base mesh wich i shall use for all my character models alternating the shapes of corse
and i was hoping you people would help me find 2 seperate images of front and side tht i can import into modeling program so tht i can start modeling i have googled many but have not found any tht are scaled correctly or are simple as i do not want to build a complex model of the human anatomy.and also im not a great favn of those nude refrence pictures as if some one walks in on me with a picture of a naked man they will wonder what i am doing

maybe some drawn model refrence

any help would be great thank you

also i have a question concerning clothing such as say i have a very simple base mesh and would like to add clothes to this model what is the best way of doing this?
Is it a good idea to get a poly plane and just model around the base mesh the clothes?

or to extrude parts?

or to make creases around the sleaves but i do not know how i do this in maya?

please help thank you

a lot of the time you need to make improvises or draw things yourself. i don't know of any free reference images of people for front and side. generally its easier to compromise with just a perspective view and sort of wing it.

also look through here there's some links to sites....

BiggAdd posted a nice one a while ago in a thread of mine:

In fact that thread has become quite an encyclopedia for human modelling, you should read through it .

I would say you should create some loop cuts wherever the hems of the clothes will be, scale out all the parts covered by clothes a bit, and then just add wrinkles, details, and all that jazz. That's probably an oversimplification of the process but it's what I do.

I didn't make it! I can't remember where I got it from though, or who made it.

Hats off to whoever created it though, it is a good reference.

In fact, it might be one of Josh's drawings. I guess we will find out if he posts here.

http://www.the-blueprints.com/ has reference images of a lot of stuff, including humans.
