Geek Culture / DB type software for Mac??

Hi, I'm now the proud owner of an iBook and was wondering if any of you knew about a product like DB but for Mac?
The only IDE I've heard of for Mac is CodeWarrior, so any IDE's for C++ that you know of for MacOS X would also be helpful!

I know there is a BASIC language for the Mac (as well as C). Dont know anything about it though.

theres another one starting up also

METAL is my fav so far


ITS like 2d blitz but with better native speech and sound and multiplayer and lots of mac specific tricks only native on that Platform.

thing is C++ is really only windows, the point in using something like CodeWarrior or Cygwin is to convert C++ to C as Unix isn't capable of using C++ without the Microsoft Libraries which on Win98+ became fully C++ themselves - which is madness really

If you wanna make something similar to DB i'd suggest Codewarrior and OpenGL / OpenAudio would be your best bet, but you'd need to know C pretty well

however to be honest Java has just as much power as DB on the mac & pc and though a little more complex in structuring really is a perfect solution multiplatform

blitzmax is no doubt written in C++ ... most people do that then relise too late that it shoulda been done in C and using OpenGL wasn't a solution to port hahaa

OMG ignornace is bliss

unix has a C++ compiler in most distribs in case u missed that bwhaha


heres a quick tip buddy

most of the libs have different names but its all the same and is no different to coding C++ apps on the pc until u start to use resources for much larger projects with resedit and the resource fork.

example
iostream.h is sioux lib


The mac coding environment is much more suited to porting the code to other languages.

Have u heard of the Metroworx conversion hub?
u can port to windows or unix or java and in many languages.

haha that made me laugh you obviously havent much exposure in that regard

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha sorry but its silly to mention stuff u have no idea about.
