I entirely forgot to do something to impress my school classmates/teachers this year My website is for programming, and people at my school think I suck for doing that type of snitz, ... Mostly I try to make somethin' that all the people would like, but this year..Sadly, I forgot

What are you doing to impress class mates? And, do you have any ideas for a "quick fix" that I could do quickly to impress them? Maybe a DarkBASIC game? One taht takes..err..an hour?

I like uwdesigns idea that would seriously impress me if someone could learn C++ while having sex, actually even being able to think about something other than sex while having sex would impress me!

nooo kanzure has been taken by peer pressure
actually all the kids in my class think i am an idiot cause rarly do anything and allways sit in a corner either scribbling in a small notbook (my game document) or sitting with the 2(used to be 3, till be kicked his ass out) other members of megaton software, discussing future designs and arguing who gets to be in charge next year. Every body allways thinks my game documents notebook is my diary and tries to steal it from me, thus always failing. The only time ppl thought i could do anything was when for science we had to build a wooden crane dsign of our own, and every one drew their design on paper but i brought in a my 3d modell. The only way to impress ppl is to tell them to get lost if they ask to much questions and ignore them when they talk too much. The point of this story is school sucks and its not worth it to try to impress the ppl in it

I think I'm the only one out of the 1500+ kids who can actually program. Okay, well, I havn't talked to everyone, but if I said C++, or Darkbasic too anyone, they'd just walk away. I just keep quiet about my games and work on them at home. Although I do show my friends from school my work occasionally.

I'm compensating for the lack of popularity and friends, everybody thinks I'm a fat ass slob who just knows alot about the computer.

'go out with a hot chick'

'go home and f*ck the prom queen'

'Play a giant public trick on a teacher '

'you had sex, while learning C++'

'made a whole game whilest having sex at the same time'

'draw a picture on ms paint'

' beat up a guy twice my size'

...well, it'd certainly impress people if you did all of those at once

true, but i dont particularly want to hav ea guy twice my size around while im having sex. Nor would i want one of my teachers, now that i've finished school it'd be even more awkward.

Good grief, I was under the impression the thread wasn't serious

Why the hell do you have to impress anyone? If they can't except you for who you are then screw them. Not literally of course...

I was in grade 11, and had spent most of grade 10 walking away from fights, talking my way out of them. There was a group of 6 guys who were always picking on me, or kicking my ass.

I had enough of them, and spent most of the summer building up hatred. And decided that my mom was wrong walking away was wrong. I was big about 5'11 220, and was called chicken and loser, and that had to change.

The first day of grade 11 I got to school early, got ready, and as soon as people arrived I got each one in a fight, then another then another, I got 5 out of the 6, and was suspended for 2 months for fighting. Came back to school, and was treated totally different, respected. My mom was mad, using my size and fists not my brains, but felt good.

I finally got 6th, his name is Gary, caught him in a bar, kicked the crap out of him and it felt good.

I dont agree with fighting, but there is a time and a place for it. The respect for the next two years (Grade 11 and 12) was worth it. Wish I did it earlier.

Know I stand up when i have to, fight when needed. Which is rare. Grade 12 was a growth year for me. Im 6 foot 7, 330 pounds, not your typical computer geek, except for the glasses. At our 10 year graduation reunion 3 of the bullies applogized, and said they got what they deserved.

Its sad that violence causes respect, when it should be our accomplisments.

@kanzure: so are saying u ARE underpeer pressure?? Bah peer pressure sucks. TV says its sooooo importent to be respected among your "peers" I dont really interact with much ppl in my class expect only the group of friends i make games with. Ppl usully wander over a ask ohh is that computer code?? Oh is that a GAME you are making? How can you make games???? *second person comes over* you have to buy a special computer, dumbass! *we groan* U just got tell em to go screw a lamb and they leave annoyed. Sometimes ppl get respect by acting "bad" on purpose. Thats just stupid. If you can learn then mighta as well do it. Unlike me i cant concentrate on anything because i am constantly thinking about designs for my game on writing notes to my friends in a secret code we made up that no one knows. I WISH I had the power to learn something in school, and not be late everyday, walk out of classes to play Magic: the gathering (card game) in the bathrooms with friends and use the backs of exercise sheets to draw various caracters. The point yet again is "peer presure" is just an excuse puny minded kids use when they are drawn in by the media and friends and want to be respected by other ppl, thus resulting in them doing stupid stuff.

Mouse, step #3 was helpful I shall sh*t-talk one of my classmates today That should help..rofl...I'm joking

And, I found out what I shall do to attract attention. Over the past summer and school year (last), I created a php powered portal system.I shall add support for "schools" so they can store notes for each class, and share them. It will also have an automatic test notification system and other crap like that

if you have to ask people how to impress other people, then your thnking too hard. just be yourself, it sounds corny, but whats the point of having friends that only like you because your not you? Kinda pointless

lol yea its a classic. There is also, go screw a goat, go screw a sheep, and go screw a pigin but those we never use. Once we met another group in our school who makes games so we had a compo. Of course they were using rpg maker 2000 and we used DB so they quit when they found out we were using a real language. I wish i could just stay home all day and make games. Going back to school after the summer holidays is like a million icy showers at once.

I didnt realize how many people here seem to be social outcasts. to solve your problem, you should have gone to my school, and moreover my year level, everyone knew everyone and yes we had programmers (quite a few actually) and yes we had the jock type but everyone got along and there werent any outcasts persay, just a few idiots and toss-pots that the majority of people like. (no one here fits that category though, well not to the extreme that these kids did anyway.

Yea, man. Move to Ohio, it's awesome over here. If your a programmer, people will just say "cool". Maybe punch your name to other people too. Of course, I'm an athlete(track), so maybe I just get more respect from my fellow schoolmates, than the other programmers at my school.
